From 1903 to 1913, Claude Debussy recorded several of his own pieces on piano rolls. Debussy was delighted with the reproduction quality, saying in a letter to Edwin Welte: “It is impossible to attain a greater perfection of reproduction than that of the Welte apparatus. I am happy to assure you in these lines of my astonishment and admiration of what I heard. I am, Dear Sir, Yours Faithfully, Claude Debussy.” More than one century old, these recordings allow us to listen to the great composer playing his own works.

Rolls for the reproducing piano were generally made from the recorded performances of famous musicians. Typically, a pianist would sit at a specially designed recording piano, and the pitch and duration of any notes played would be either marked or perforated on a blank roll, together with the duration of the sustaining and soft pedal. Reproducing pianos can also re-create the dynamics of a pianist's performance by means of specially encoded control perforations placed towards the edges of a music roll, but this coding was never recorded automatically. Different companies had different ways of notating dynamics, some technically advanced (though not necessarily more effective), some secret, and some dependent entirely on a recording producer's handwritten notes, but in all cases these dynamic hieroglyphics had to be skillfully converted into the specialized perforated codes needed by the different types of instrument.

    wait a minute
    hieroglyphics
    the fuck?

this was written like a professional essay and yet they didn't know about the whole "hieroglyphic
is an adjective, hieroglyph is the noun"
thing (which Wario Land 4 should be applauded for, btw)?
I wanna see a piece of media where like that girl in San Andreas calls you "idiota", but instead of someone slipping out of English it's slipping into it. "Fucking dipshit" and the guy sounds like Chris O'Neill sayin' it so it's really forceful and hard-hitting

Ummm... gosh, this is embarrassing... tahutoa-san? Would it be okay if you gave me a small loan of a million coins...? The babies are going to kick me out of the friend group at the daycare center if I don't pay them hasta el fin del día.

While you feed my ego with your praise, I must say, I had to look up what "el rey" could possibly mean, and that turned up nothing, so all I gotta say is

    que

besides my initial impulse to think that 'rey' is connected to the presence of 'reg' in words that have to do with royalty as in 'king', and that you're just restating in a different language for emphasis.

It means "the king". How did that not turn up anything? That's like one of the most basic Spanish words. Extraño. Either way, hope you're having a great day!
I just realized that the track I've decided to cover in Reason 10 for my Music Production class is literally from the same game as the song I did an arrangement of earlier on in the course.

Initially I did Quartz Quadrant Past, and now I'm doing Stardust Speedway Past. It was because I already made a MIDI for it, and thus can kind of cheese it-- AND it's relatively simple, which helps. I just can't believe it took this many hours for that fact to click in my head.
PSA: It is recommended that you have about 0.073 of nothing at the start of all your audio files, so that when a new viewer loads the SoundCloud page they won't have the audio suddenly skip them ahead by... well-- about 0.073.

Let it be known that "Hildebert" is an actual name.

Also, if you read HildeGARD's Wikipedia page, under biography you can see that she was one shrewwwd motherfucker. "Ohhh, dear Abbot I've been stricken with paralysis. It must've been because we didn't go to -->Rupertsburg<-- like we wanted imeanGod wanted OhHhHh" *drapes hand over forehead dramatically*
Are there any types of headphones that were designed for people with big heads (like me) so I won't accidentally be wearing them in such a way that fucks with the panning?

As for headphones in general, I recommend the ((pauses to look for the box with spare headphones in 'em)) ..."Titan" headphones made by "Bass Jaxx." These headphones are dope as fuck for how cheap they were (got 'em at that Five Below store to give you an idea), and I've had this current pair for so long that-- I think My Cat may have still been alive, actually...? Either way, I've been using them for at least as long as I've been posting Wario remixes (anywhere past Foolin' Around & Still Dre Variation, anyway, I'm pretty sure).

Anyways. I don't know which factor is causing the Left to be slightly stronger than the Right by default, but if it's my headphones being old, I want to at least wait until it becomes problematic (i.e. WOW my right ear feels lonely) and not just annoying.
Fun fact, the C does NOT stand for Common Time (a Common misconception). It actually is the symbol used for what is modern day 2/4 time. Imperfect Time, Imperfect Prolation.
I find it ironic that people didn't start writing The Catchy Songs until after oral tradition was rendered obsolete. Like, "Minuet and Badinerie" didn't take the form of a Guido's Hand marking, know what'm sayin'?
My familiarity with "Rococo Rondo" has proven a valuable asset in today's quiz about Formes Fixes. I wonder where along the line the "eau" in "Rondeau" became "o".

Also: apparently, if this example audio is anything to go by, this style of composition is consistently really fucking pleasant? I suppose that may have something to do with all medieval music never being discordant at any point, or ever having accidentals, which can be refreshing.
