    Normally I draw a joke New Year's cad every year but this year since I actually know how to draw without my art looking like bleach splashed on your eyes, I was gonna make an actually serious card with a character (original or fanart) but procrastination got the better of me and it's already 11:30 PM in here. So I won't make it before 2026....

    I'll still try I suppose.

    Nope, Ancient Cheese weirly enough. For whatever reason I kept missing my bomb throws which would tragicaly end my combos and when I did my throws correctly and got to the end, I realized Gerome was still with me.

    That happened to me a few times too. Or I'd flat out miss a secret room thinking I'd already found it.

    P ranking is stressful as hell, but damn is it satisfying when you pull it off!

    Seriously, I was kinda skeptical about the focus about speed in the game since a lot of speedy indie games have the issue of not being very fun for me since they are usually more style over substance but this is not this game's case.

    I'm a big Mega Man fan (my name comes from Magma Man from Mega Man 9), though I really wish they would make something that isn't classic Mega Man for once. Still, I'm happy to see it either way.

    @Magma True, I love the classic series but a new X game is long overdue (X Dve does not count). I don't particularly care about the other sub-series personally but it'd be neat too.

    Something that people seem to find difficult to grasp is that if everyone agrees on a game being overrated/underrated, it can no longer be regarded as such.

    I half agree with you there. But I don't really understand how everyone saying a game is overrated makes it less overrated.Hmm:

    Well overrated means that a game is judged to be better than it actually is, but if everyone is saying that a game is regarded too highly, than the game is no longer overrated because the people who regarded the game as better than it actually is are now a minority, if that makes sense.

    Kinda like bragging about being humble makes you less humble if that makes sense.

    A game being bad is different because it's not dependent on the general perception of a game.

    Sometimes I really regret going on the Internet. No matter how much I seem to try to avoid dumbass posts that anger me, they all seem to catch up. This place kinda feels like a safer place (perhaps due to being quieter) since I don't recall seeing rude or bad faith posts in my time here (I'm sure it must have happened sometime but not in my presence at least).

    Can Super Mario Bros. Wonder be called Super Mario Bros. 5 since it's the only game that has the Super Mario Bros. title with no prefix after Super Mario Wolrd (subtitled SMB4 in Japan)?

    It plays like the first Wario Land, but it's a lot faster and smoother.

    It's actually kinda funny how every two Wario Land games are very similar. 2 and 3, you can't die and there's a lot of puzzle mechanics, and 4 & Shake It have the escape sequences.

    And Pizza Tower and AntonBalst have cartoony artstyles as well as hyper dynamic gameplay.

    Ok, those games aren't actually related but I still found it funny.

    Litterly. And they were both inspired by Wario Land, so I'd say they're still kinda related.

    Pizza Tower leans closer to Wario Land 3 and 4. 3 for the fact that you can't die, and 4 for pretty much everything else.

    They pretty much took Wario's R dash and cranked it up to eleven.



    Antonblast leans closer to Wario Land 4 and VB Wario Land.

    The speed is still there but it's not the main objective like Pizza Tower where you're trying to speedrun through the game as fast as possible, and get the highest rank.

    The Antonblast devs wanted you to explore through the level a bit. You're not really in any kind of rush until you activate Brulo's timer. Then you need to book it!

    Funny how this site seems to focus more on Wario Land (at least now) as opposed to r/Wario that focuses more on WarioWare most of the time.

    I suspect forums tend to draw an older demographic, and those people tend to be more into games from older consoles (like the Wario Land series).

    Decided to retry Wario Land 3 and this time I didn't get lost this time (I have no idea how I used to get lost, this game is really easy). I can totally get why people love this game, I'm having a lot of fun with it... until the emulator crashed and didn't save anything. So I changed emulator. I'm using mGBA on N2DSXL if you are curious, I prefer playing GB games on it, playing handheld games on a big screen doesn't feel right to me.

    Man, I was able to make GameMaker work on Linux before going on vacation but I doesn't want to work anymore and I don't have any WIndows partition on me, that may delay WarioWare: Computed!. At least, this gives me an excuse to focus on learning Godot. Gonna try to make the Greed Framework on that instead to learn it.
