These are by far my favourite commercials! The fact that they are all animated is really awesome!
And the fact that Nintendo doesn't do this anymore blows!

Which ones do you like the most?







Sadly there was never really a good animated Wario Land II commercial.

In some of the earlier ones Wario was portrayed quite differently compared to today. But to be honest I like that Wario more than the "toilet humor"-Wario of today.

I think my favourite one is a tie between the Wario Land 3 and 4 ones. Both are animated really well. The claymation of the WL4 one is spot on! The Hall of Hieroglyphs remix in the background is also pretty sweet.
But the WL3 one did a really accurate job when recreating the animations in the game. Just look at that thwomp-like enemy! He looks JUST like in the game and he makes the same expressions after squashing Wario. It's reeaaally cool!
 
I like the voice actor for Wario in the Super Mario Land 2, Wario Land, and Wario Blast commercials and I kind of wished that Nintendo had used him in the games.

I always loved that Wario Land 3 commercial the most, but Wario Land: SML3's ad was fantastic too.

Yeah, I have to agree with ya'. As much as I love Charles Martinet's take on it, I still loved that voice used for him originally. It sounded much more ominous and a bit more fitting for Wario, in my opinion. His laugh was better too.

Also, there was a Wario Land II commercial for Europe, North America and Japan, but the only one on YouTube is this one for the Netherlands, oddly.



Oh, and here's a WMOD commercial, as well.

 
This Mario & Wario commercial is pretty interesting:

The game was already very similar to the Mario VS Donkey Kong series (outside of the first game), but this commercial having the characters as toys makes it outright prophetic.
 
Sorry for triple posting, but I found myself watching the german versions of the Wario Land 1 and Super Mario Land 2 commercials and I do find them interesting, mostly because of Wario's voice :


Now I can't confirm if it is him, but Wario's voice sounds an awful lot like Eckart Dux, most notably his version of Arthur, from the german King Of Queens dub, either way I'm actually rather fond of it, nobody will ever beat Martinet in my eyes, but this one actually works quite well for me.

This commercial is brilliant (as were a lot of Nintendo commercials during the GBA/Gamecube era). On top of it being hilarious, it has a really distinct feel with it's cinematography. Seeing Nintendo splashed into our reality always interested me, so seeing all these ordinary people behaving like Wario just makes me happy for some reason.

Me too! I swear I've also seen it a long time ago in german. He said the same thing, just in german. And at the end he said something along the lines of "I tell you, always playing the bad guy isn't so easy." or something.
Doesn't anyone have recordings of these? On some old VHS tape or something?

The Gamecube and Wii era were definitely, the best generation for Wario.
 


A German commercial for Mario Kart 64. Wario still sounds like you'd expect him to, but it's hilariously weird to hear him yelling "YAIBEN SAIKEN WAAAAARIO VURGAIDEN". And DK's voice afterwards sounds so bizarrely dignified; has he just never had a fitting actor in animation?
