Puyo Puyo

The 3DS is probably the best console to release it for but it just seems like a bit of an anomaly to me if it only comes out for that.
It also think it is the best console for that but its nearly the end of the 3DS life span and i don't know if it'll sell well, Especially since we have bigger releases like for example pokemon sun and moon.

Well I don't think the 3DS's lifespan is much of a problem in this case and I don't think this game is really trying to compete with Sun and Moon but we will see.

I wouldn't say they are competing but they can still effect sales, For example if an indie game is released at a nearby time toa game like call of duty it is gonna make a huge difference in sales. That's also where lifespans come in, This is one of the last impressions of the 3DS as it seems and people are gonna save money for the next new thing. So of course they are gonna go with the devil they know rather than the devil they don't know and if they wait until the next handheld is already out than people are gonna buy games for the new thing, Perhaps They should port to that and it'll get tons of publicity. but as far as i see it won't leave a huge mark on the 3DS even though it is the most optimal gameplay wise.

As expected, but at least we got to see some of the other modes. Was that multiplayer on the boss battle btw?

I'm late to answer this (blame my router crapping out), but from the looks of it it's singleplayer footage, since the previous screenshots showing this mode had multiple characters displayed on the touchscreen, with the one you'd be playing being highlighted in a different frame, but the footage here only shows Arle (on all 3Dses even).

This also confirms that the boss battle mode can be played in singleplayer, which isn't exactly shocking news, but they previously only ever mentioned the multiplayer aspect of it, so now we can at least say for sure,

Oh I forgot they mentioned the multiplayer boss battles before. I do wonder what was the point of showing 4 3DSs to show off a single playerv thing then. Maybe explaining that it's single and multiplayer with a weird visual.

It is a weird choice, maybe they wanted to highlight that both single and multy are an option, but even then that makes me wonder why there wasn't any multiplayer footage as well, I think that would have made the point more clear. So I don't know what to tell ya'.

Anywho, I'm loving the new animations. At the same time though, it almost feels kind of weird to have the same animations and character designs from 20th in a 3D style.

I love how detailed the animations are, I mean look at Sig, we only see one simple animation and his idle pose, but there is so much movement there, with his shirt, bag and hair in constant motion, instead of being static or only minimaly animated. It just looks incredibly lively and beatiful.

I just did something very self indulgent.

As we all know Puyo Puyo Quest brought back a ton of Compile era characters, completely withh brand new voice actors. The thing is thought, I never played Quest so I had no clue what any of them sounded like.

Then I remembered that the voices do regulary get ripped, so I went to the monstrous Puyo nexus thread for the game, downloaded one pack and made one of these voice clip compilation thingys that you often see for various Mario spin offs for instance and no points guessing who I chose for the video:

He sounds pretty awesome too if you ask me, especially his regular 17 year old self.

As of now I also have Chico, Seriri, Kikimora, Minotauros, Doppelganger Arle, Incubus, Panotty and Fufufu.

I plan to power myself through that huge thread and get all of the voices, because I am very curious, but is there anyone you guys would want to hear the new voice off, if you haven't looked into it already?
