SGDQ (Summer Games Done Quick 2016) is the next event taking place in July. The event will be taking place from July 3, 2016 - July 10, 2016, at the Hilton Minneapolis Downtown Hotel, in Minneapolis, MN. Games Done Quick is a series of charity video game marathons. These events feature high-level play by speedrunners raising money for charity. The events are streamed live on twitch tv.

This year, I got accepted to participate with Wario World. The schedule will be posted Sunday, but I'm pretty sure I will be going on Wednesday (July 6th). I will be speedrunning the game doing the fastest route possible (beating the game as fast as possible by any means necessary, I have held the world record for nearly three years). Wario World hasn't been seen at these events since SGDQ of 2013 and since then the game has changed a lot in terms of speedrunning.

While not the greatest Wario game to many people, it is a great speedrun to watch and I hope you Wario fans will enjoy my run. Maybe next event we can get some Wario Land 3 love.

Oh, that's cool! I don't think I've ever seen a Wario game there before!
I hope it won't be at night for me d;)

There's been a couple of times Wario Land 4 has made an appearance, usually for the winter event though, once by mike89sda and once by 00greenbean00. Wario Land 2 hasn't been seen since 2012 I think, which was ran by werster I believe.

Wario Land 3 though has never been seen. Though a lot of the runners aren't from the US for that game.

With the event literally days away, I think this is a good time than any to remind everyone here my run is still this wednesday in the morning. (see the schedule in the previous post).

I'm nervous about the run, but another reason I wanted to bump this wasn't just because the marathon is days away but I am going to be wearing my Wario hat during the run as well. If I also haven't mentioned it but Omegagalax (The runner who did this game back in 2013 for the same cause) is gonna be co-commentating with me along with Mr_Shasta who did some runs on the game as well.

I think I've done everything to make the experience really fun.

If you want to see Omegagalax's run of it from 2013, see the run below. A lot has changed since those days! (At that time, I didn't get the WR until a month later)

I can't make the show myself but I wish you the best of luck! It's really cool that you're able to do this, especially for charity.

Yeah I forgot my Wario hat on the drive up here originally. But the run was pretty good overall though and did better than my expectations. Mr_shasta and omegagalax commentary were gold. Without them I wasn't sure how to talk about the game because I was really nervous. I think my commentary was okay at best but I did prepare for that after all.

It was clear you were nervous, but you picked it up really well some minutes in. It got better and better, and especially with the two other guys too, it was quite enjoyable and also interesting to me! d:)

So I saw the speedrun a 3 or 4 days ago. I missed the original stream but I caught up on Youtube. Really good job, and I learned a lot from it! Like you don't need to wait for the cutscene to finish to get the Boss stamp/Key. I won't speedrun the game, though, I can't get to that level of skill!
Also, it feel like you go soooo fast! I never knew Wario could move at this speed! :p

Anyway, that was a good run, good entertainment. I hope to see more in the future! Do you speedrun other games in the stream?

If you mean if I ran other games at SGDQ then no I didn't.
