Well... one thing's for certain: Even in Mario's Universe the other humans have been massive compared to him (and his bro).
She's even sitting down but she's still much taller than Weeg. Same with pretty much every other ghost. Shivers the butler is hugh-fucking-mungus compared to Loogy.
Maybe that's why the Bros always hang out around the tiny Toads. So they can feel better about their hight.

Wow... now that I see it,
the ghosts in Luigi's Mansion are really tall. I always thought Melody to be around the same height as Peach.

In terms of " human " designs in the mushroom kingdom would feel alright if it were a blend of realism to not. Much like the ghosts in Luigi's Mansion. They looked cartoony enough without looking awkward and horrendously ugly like the Sonic humans. Also Uncle Grimmly for best ghost.

Oh boy, I haven't felt this hyped for anything Mario-related in years! I can't even begin to express how excited the trailer made me, it looks so huge and never-ending, like you could just keep on running along and exploring forever. That's exactly what I've been wanting out of the series for so long, a return to the more open ended worlds like Mario 64 or Galaxy 1 and 2, and tons of secrets and stuff, like Mario can interact with everything and react to it, that's just so rad! The real world aesthetic is perfect for an exploratory Mario game too, the environment is so gorgeous I'll probably spend most of my time with Odyssey just looking at the scenery, lol. Mario looks cool too, great balance between the Nintendo 64 era design and that semi-realistic thing Smash Bros started, and of course Charles Martinet gives a usual awesome voice acting! If I had to nitpick the sentient hat kinda threw me off at first but it's growing on me, haha, looks like some neat opportunities for platforming and attacking.
But yeah, overall I'm extremely hyped for Super Mario Odyssey, it's got plenty of new ideas but just enough old stuff to keep the old farts like me coming back. Looking rad, I'm definitely buying a Nintendo Switch for it later in the year!
Edit: By the way, the humans don't bother me. I guess it is pretty offputting to see them interacting with cartoony Mario, but oh well, haha. I'd rather have them than anime humans though.

Well I think the Mario series amiibo are compatable in some way with this game. In the Switch teaser trailer, they showed a bunch of Mario amiibo next tot the console while she was playing Odyssey.
Is that any proof? No. But it's a possibility.
And because there is a Wario and Waluigi amiibo for the Mario series, perhaps they will cameo in some way if amiibos are compatable in the game.

Can't say much about this game, other that it looks incredible. As a Mario 64 fan, Nintendo have done exactly what I want them to do with the Mario series.
