Well I didn't say exactly like Shake It.
I guess what I mean is more of the handdrawn engine and just a few of it's aesthetics rather then it's exact art style. (Kind of hard to put it into words.)
Like how the Super Mario All Stars versions of the original NES games ran on the same engine as (I think????) SMW and shares a few similarties with that game's artstyle, but not really looking like it in terms of visuals.
It's a bit hard to imagine that this ran on the same engine as
This
So this is generally what I was referring to more then anything.
Though feel free to correct me if wrong on this.
That or for a much better example, similar to Rayman Origins and Rayman Legends (Probably a better comparision)
despite running on the same engine and sharing it's general asthetics, both games have a very different look to them.
Origins has a very cartoony look to it.
Whereas Legends had a more fantasyish storybook like look to it.
My idea was that the remakes could run on either the same or an upgraded version of the Shake It engine and can share a bit of it's general aesthetics and look, but not so much it's exact art style.
Once again, it's a bit hard to put it into words, but hopefully it explains that part a bit better then it did.
(But then again, It's probably best they go for a new engine entirely if they do end up doing remakes as it's an old engine from 2008 and is probably too outdated to be updated or whatever.)
