Controversial, maybe:
Waluigi does not deserve to be in Smash as a playable fighter, and Daisy does.

And yeah I know, rich from the guy who smashified Captain Syrup but I said what I said.

Well you're not alone although I don't totally agree with Daisy. Even then, I feel like most people genuinely like Daisy while I've become pretty convinced that Waluigi is more of a meme than a genuinely beloved character.

I genuinely love Waluigi. Not just as a meme. That being said, I don't want Waluigi in Smash... nor Daisy, nor Rosalina, nor Bowser Jr.

I'm the kind of guy who want each series to concentrate on the few that are really the face of the series. Unless it's like Pokemon or Fire Emblem that get new main characters all the time.

I'm alright with Waluigi and get some amusement out of his meme status on occasion, but I could care less about him not being playable, having someone represent the spin offs with a proper moveset would be neat, but eh, I find it more of a shame that Toad is probably gonna get the shaft again, aside from finally getting better treatment as part of Peach's movest.

Daisy isn't a stand-alone character, she's a variation of Peach. I think Waluigi's too different from Luigi to be a variation of him.

I think people are getting confused. The general idea I've seen is that Daisy is just a skin you toggle to through Peach's colors. Going by the way echo fighters were described, I'm like 90% sure Daisy is going to have her own slot. Lucina and Dark Pit aren't going to suddenly be toggle options on Marth and Pit, I'm positive.

Not sure if anyone else has noticed it, but Wario's down throw animation now has him clench his fists, which makes it a lot closer to his Wario Land Ground Pound in terms of looks, very nice touch.

Ok Ok, lets get back on topic with the Warios and Waluigis
What? Discussing something other than Wario's appearance in the game (or Waluigi's?) isn't off-topic. It's not as if somebody derailed the thread into a bun-fight exclusively about Daisy. It was literally two consecutive posts about something that isn't Wario. Why can't this thread simply act as a general Smash Bros. Ultimate discussion hotspot? Let the discussion go where it wants to go. There's only so much that can be said about Wario at this early stage.

i got something to say

I really dislike wario's gold buttons. I think the white buttons he had before were perfect. It made it so that neither yellow or purple were the outright dominant color in his color scheme. Now his color scheme is too yellow

Initially, I didn't pay the new buttons much mind, but it's beginning to bug me the more I look at them. The original white buttons were a great design choice... I'm genuinely confused by the change. It seems a little bold of Sakurai/the art director to make such a change to one of the most established character designs in the Mario franchise. Without the white buttons, the color balance on Wario's torso is very poor, and the gloves contrast severely.

How have none of Sakurai's artists pointed this out? Was it some sort of "request" from another division at Nintendo, like with Wii Fit Trainer's new face? I wonder if this was Ko Takeuchi's doing...

The white/silver buttons always created a great contrast to the rest of the color scheme. They especially stood out against the purple. The gold doesn't stand out as much.
Besides, that's how he's usually depicted.

That's precisely my point. Is there any good reason why the buttons had to be changed? It's such an odd thing to mess with... I really am beginning to think it may have been some sort of demand from Takeuchi or anyone else majorly involved with art direction in the WarioWare/Mario series. It's either that, or Sakurai making more strange creative decisions (and apparently being unaware of basic color theory). Still, why alter such an established character design like Wario's? It's a nitpick, certainly, but I don't get it.
