Were there any Wario games you actually thought were disappointing?

To be honest, I have to say I haven't come across any that classify as bad or mediocre or disappointing yet.

But that might be because to a degree, I've only played the better received ones so far (aka Wario Land 1, II, 3, 4, Shake It, some of the better WarioWare games, etc). I've heard Wario Master of Disguise has quite a lot of flaws and that Snapped is a weak WarioWare title, but I can't really judge them that much, I just stayed clear of them in general.

But what about you? Were there any Wario games you felt disappointed by? And if so, which ones?
 
Definitely Master of Disguise. It has too much talking and dialog exchanges for what is ostensibly an action platformer. Similarly, it has forced touch-screen mechanic minigames that attempt to riff on WarioWare but don't quite capture the feel of anything from that series. These minigames are mandatory for progressing through the game and end up just being a frustrating hassle. If you can manage to get beyond the exposition and dialog-heavy first portion of the game and don't mind the forced minigames, its Wario platforming mechanics are merely "okay" instead of "solid" or "great".

Yeah, I've heard quite a few bad things about this game. Shame, it had a lot of promise too.

Anyone else got any experiences with Wario games they thought were a bit disappointing?

Well, Snapped obviously. I wouldn't even call it a real game. It's more like a novelty. But not even a good one. The technology is just so imprecise. Not to mention it's so short and has like no replay value.
 
I don't like that some of Wario's forms are so hard to draw in Master of Disguise. Sometimes the touch screen doens't respond. I remember having trouble with the painter, scientist and also with drawing doors. I also got stuck at Smithsnoorian Museum Quiz, and then stopped playing the game at the Ice Caverns. The game until that point has preety meh. But that is really the only game I don't like.
 
I thought Shake It! was pretty poor. It's a looker, but the gameplay challenges don't evolve much and the motion control mechanics were under-utilised. There's too many roadblocks in that game that force you to repeat the level if you miss anything. The folded level design is also quite poor.
 
Well, actually, Wario Land 4 did disappoint me. It's a great game, but it's very short. Like wariolandgoldpiramid said, after Wario Land and Wario Land II having lots of levels and Wario Land 3 having 25 big, diverse levels which had different parts to them to which you would come back later, I found Wario Land 4 to have not enough levels. That did disappoint me, even though I do really like Wario Land 4.
 
Ok, Wario Land 4 was short and sweet. Plus it had 3 levels of difficulty. To me, it was Master of Disguise that disappointed me. Such an awesome concept, but so poorly executed... a shame. Before MoD came out, I was disappointed by Wario World being too short, too repetitive and a bit weird on the gameplay side (it was strangely hard to control Wario, sometimes). However, Wario World wasn't a bad game, it was still fun and had great soundtrack, also looked really good! Master of Disguise kinda threw all that out the window. It's just not fun to play. I never finished the time trials...

Yup. Also, I disagree with my previous statement now (seriously, that was over one and a half years ago), as I also discovered the third level of difficulty, which adds a lot to the game, in my opinion.
 
I didn't mind all the dialogue in Master of Disguise. The writing was top notch. It was the method of transformations that killed the game.

Shake It disappointed me in not only gameplay but in sound design. Wario Land 4 made a great impression on me, and a huge part of that was the sound. The sound of smashing rocks or bashing enemies is so satisfying! That "SHABLAM" or "KAPOW" it makes you feel powerful!

But hearing the pathetic sound made when you charge into an enemy in Shake It, makes me feel so weak. Listen to that "piff" sound when hitting a foe. It's terrible.
