When will the new ideal 2D Metroid come?

This game is essentially "Not Super Metroid" I guess...

On a related note, one of my friends brought up the possibility of this game not doing well spelling trouble for the future of Metroid. I mean, it seems like only preliminary stuff has been done for Metroid Prime 4. I wonder if that could've influenced the rather pedestrian approach taken with this game.

Yeah. I also caught wind of something Sakamoto said regarding Metroid's future. Apparently he fancies making a new 2D Metroid for the home console (making it the first one since Super Metroid). Although apparently that likelihood rests in the success and reception of Samus Returns.

Well, thanks for spoiling that Ridley is in the game.
Would've been a nice surprise but nooooo, Angler couldn't wait to tell everyone.

Aww, man... I'm such a boob! Sorry about that, Shyster. I'd like to think it was predictable anyway, but there's no excuses for my boobery. Apologies to everyone here.

I mean... it's not the most unexpected thing in the world but it also shouldn't be taken for granted that they'd add new bosses.... especially major bosses.
Oh well.... Apology accepted.

There goes my money...

Well, I've been playing the first two areas, and I find the graphic style quite ugly and unrefined by today's standards. That grainy 2.5D style has been around since the late GBA/early DS days. It makes everything look jagged, tiny, and unrefined compared to the big, bold, polished sprite art I'm used to. The game doesn't feel like Metroid II in any capacity, more like a scaled-down Metroid Prime sidescroller.

Still, I really hope it sells like a song, and brings a new wave of hope for all modern Metroid fans out there. I can see the direction the series is set in, and this new game is getting good reviews, apparently. I reckon the best thing I can do is bow out gracefully, and let the series evolve.

Btw, I was really disappointed when I found out the metroid amiibo's soft part was NOT made of solid rubber as I had expected. It's actually hollow and the soft part is just a shell. I thought it was gonna be like a really squishy rubber ball. S:(
You know... like a boob? :S8V:

OH BY THE WAY!
If any of y'all get the special edition of this game, don't throw away the paper with the Metroid 2 download code after using it! If you unfold it it's actually a cool mini poster on the other side!

I almost didn't realize that.
