I believe that Nintendo is using the Mario Movies to revive dead franchises and boost existing ones, as DK got a new game, and rumors say Star Fox is as well, in addition to SMB Wonder releasing and getting DLC featuring Rosalina the same years as the movies. And really, I don't blame them. I would do the same thing. Therefore, something very exciting could happen if the next movie goes how I think it will.

So first, hear me out on this:
The Super Mario Land Movie
Daisy comes to visit Peach, hence why she is at Gateway Galaxy. That, or she's an adventurer traveling to new planets.
She arrives to the Mushroom Kingdom and Peach says something like, "long time no see!" and Daisy shows off her fighting skills, more impressive than Peach's, and the two have a small argument about who's a better fighter. Meanwhile, Luigi is completely infatuated, and Yoshi snaps him out of it by nudging his shoulder.
Daisy receives a distress signal from her servants. Wario has taken over Sarasaland. He has control of the castle and the residents are in desperate need of help. The name Wario rings a bell in Mario and Luigi's head, and they remember a classmate of theirs. Later it is revealed that Wario came about in a similar manner to Peach and Rosalina, and having the power of invulnerability. He was then transported to Brooklyn via Warp Pipe, where he was raised by his adoptive mother who taught him about farming. There is a flashback scene showing a preschool, in which a young Mario introduces himself. He says, "Hi, I'm Mario, what's your name?" Not knowing his own name, he says, "I'm...uh...Wario." Wario is a chaotic and destructive child, leading to the other kids avoiding him. As time goes on, Wario gets increasingly jealous of how Mario gets to have friends and a brother. "It's...not...FAIR!" he screams, and he runs off, and jumps into a Warp Pipe. He becomes greedy and narcissistic, wanting everything to himself. He starts a farm on Daisy's planet, and gains a reputation as a thief. He takes over more and more of the planet until he finally reaches Sarasaland, right when Daisy is visiting Peach.
Mario and co. beat him and explain all of the misunderstandings and he redeems himself, promising to help out when needed(if he gets paid). This sets up for future movies to feature characters like Fawful and the Shadow Queen, as Wario now fights for the greater good while still maintaining a rivalry with Mario, similarly to DK. Think of the role Buford had in Phineas and Ferb.
Finally, another character who needs a revival might make an appearance, such as Captain Falcon or Little Mac, and the post credits scene shows Bowser and Jr. in captivity, when Bowser says, "Finally, someone's come to bail me out." The final shot shows the Koopalings tying up the guard.

Secondly, this presents the opportunity for a Wario revival. I've already laid out on a Google Doc how they could do this, with a two-part plan on how to be the most profitable. I won't put all the details here, but I will upload some if you all want to see it. For now, I'll just tell you it involved a Kirby & The Amazing Mirror style multiplayer Wario Land title, and a Super Mario Odyssey style Wario World sequel. These are subject to change, as I'm still drafting them.

Finally, Nintendo, please hire me. I'm doing yours and Illumination's work for you. I'll work for less than SpongeBob's pay. I can even do a decent Wario impression(and an amazing Toad impression).

Anyway, what do you all think? Do you have better ideas for the next Mario Movie? Is there something you want to see in the next Wario Land title? Should I stop posting paragraphs of a half-baked YouTube script to Wario Forums?

I mean it feels pretty logical that they're planning a bit of a Wario revival. They recently had one for Donkey Kong, and it's likely that Yoshi, Peach, Wario, etc are getting similar focus in future.

Curious what the doc will be like.

I know they gotta do a Wario revival at some point and I think it's gonna be real soon, DK, Yoshi, Star Fox were all really recent and were boosted by the movies, and to be honest I can't see anybody but Wario being next. He's laid dormant for a long time but he's always been there and it's about time he became relevant outside of WarioWare again

I could see him being up to no good in Sarasaland, Daisy is showing up after all

I was thinking they'd do a joke where nobody knows who Wario is, similar to the reoccurring bit with Luigi in Mario & Luigi. I thought maybe Wario would call himself Mario's rival or something and Mario just has no idea who he is. Wario is arrogant and expressive and for the sake of making him funny I feel like he's gotta get annoyed by some things and that's just one of the possible ways to do it

But what you're proposing with the history between Mario and Wario as kids has me interested. Mario is definitely more friendly and approachable so I could see Wario having it rough and maybe his idolization of Mario could turn into jealousy like you said, now I'm starting to think that's how it'll happen. You said he'd not have a name and go by Wario when meeting Mario, but I propose what if he was always Wario, but Mario's hat gave him the inspiration to have a "W" hat and that was the "birth" of Wario
