Here's one interesting thing I learned from working on it. So, I'd forgotten to add the harmony for the Lead (kind of understandable, since it's so quiet). Listening back to the audio also had me realize I'd used the wrong instrument for it to begin with, when I was implementing actual Wario patches for the sound. So, I went digging back through WarioWare Twisted's patches a second time, intending to add them to the makeshift sf2 for Inc. I created (for occasions like this, where using one sf2 at a time is optimal).
Apparently, the lead instrument (the one that's combined with the xylophone) is literally the Clarinet from Ocarina of Time.

So today I by coincidence found out there's a 96% chance that Super Smash Flash 2 used one of my MIDIs as the base for one of its arrangements.
The accompaniment featured some of those same notes that when I originally put them down I was only half-sure I was hearing, and others which I was almost definitely imagining were actually part of the song (this was November of '17, though, I'd only been doing it for half a year at that time), and the first loop's drums were even relatively barren the same way. This was mostly because the drums in Ghostly Garden are fucking implausible to distinguish, especially the cymbals, but back then it was even worse for me because I had less experience. It took me six whole days to finish that MIDI the first time.

Still, it's so fucking weird and meta to know that, assuming I'm right after all, I am in some small way a part of a flash game that I used to play when I was like 10.

Here's a question for people: do you prefer the older Wario voice (Mario Golf 64, WL4, World, & the first few WW's), or the newer, deeper one (WL:SI, Smash Bros. Brawl, WW Gold, etc.)?
Obviously the main reason we got the latter to begin with was because of some voice direction or editing or something (SI and Brawl), but these days it's probably because Charles Martinet is positively ancient and his vocal cords are bassier & a bit more ragged now (Gold), so I doubt we'll see anything that matches up with the late 90's Wario voice until we inevitably see a new guy in another, like, 20-30 years.
At any rate, though, which of Wario's sultry dulcet tones do you prefer?

The teacher in my Sampling and Audio Production class sounds suspiciously like the guy from the N.A. Wario Land 3 commercial...

Do you still use MIDI for making covers / original compositions? Because as of lately, I haven't seen you giving information about what tools you use as much as you used to do.

Update on the Twisted's Shared Samples thing: I just discovered that Patch 22 of Bank 37 is a hi-passed Ocarina of Time clarinet

edit: also helpful, Patch 22 of Bank 26 is some kind of twinkly, fairy pad sound, like the level teleports in Crash Bandicoot. oh, and Bank 13's Patch 22 sounds kind of like a certain Wario Land 1 sound. It's not, but it does sound like it.
