I was hoping this was just fatigue from Dream Team, but after trudging through some more... Paper Jam really does stink a lot. There's such a cynical edge to the little writing that isn't made funny at all by how stock and standardized everything feels. I'm probably going to end up ditching my playthrough, because when a game makes me question if a series was even good to begin with, that's usually when my bed is made.

Hardmode Zeekeeper nearly filtered me from my M&L marathon... but I beat it. The saga continues!! Thank goodness there are no more annoying battles that rely on the ever delicate touch screen and gyroscope in that game.

It's been a little while since I ventured here! Mostly because my Wario interest has gone dormant once again. Though I am still glad to have joined and discussed what I love about him, I'm still anticipating a new game that'll really spark the conversation!

If I had to personify bologna, it would be the insecure kid who never peeps up at school and only goes along with what everyone else does. She never shows her true flavor! I get it, you're not the prettiest deli cut on the market, but don't go hiding away just because you got paired with mustard for chemistry class! You belong here... in my stomach that is.

I just realized the letter Z is kind of like the Wario to the letter S. Flipped, more jagged, comes afterward... and last. Don't tell him I said that bit!

Now that I'm confident enough to be here, Wario himself will be confident enough to seize the year of 2026! We shall get a new platforming game! Or a WarioWare cartoon! Captain Syrup will become a spinoff regular, even! May 2026 be a fruitful year of Wario!!!

Though if this turns out to be false... I suppose you know who to blame. Gulp.

Finally got Rivals of Aether for the holidays. I don't gel with most fighting games, but when I'm playing as Hotel Mario and thinking up characters to design and add to the workshop myself, it's hard to get heated over!

I don't like how broad the term "puzzle game" is. When I hear "puzzle game" I think of something slower-paced that lets me take my time, to decipher clues or discover how to progress further. That can't be said about games where the main goal is to rapidly stack blocks or blobs to not only stay alive, but also get a massive combo and the highest possible score.
At the same time, when my bias is put aside, those games would still count as "puzzle games", wouldn't they? You can't just stack the blocks willy-nilly, nor can you rapidly clear them if you want a high score. You have to set them up in a way that can develop a combo in the first place, so it does take some deduction as to where you put them. You're just also put on the clock to do it as well.

My life is a cycle: I eat some delish sweet relish. Years pass without eating it. I finally get an opportunity to try it again. Repeat!
