Are all of the Ashley appearences leading up to something?

Sounds neat. I always thought how Ashley would react to losing her powers, but she still had Red so there's that. Red would still be able to create some magic of his own to help Ashley until her magic returns.

We don't know that for sure, Boo. All this happened after the last Warioware game, which was in 08. When we get a new Warioware game then you can say what you want, but what if she does have more screentime now? maybe or maybe not.

Who knows, maybe because she is appearing so often in other games she'll even get a spin-off or something.
Look, my point was that having a vocal fanbase alone won't exactly take a character that far. Besides, WarioWare was never a character-focused series (and relatively obscure as it is), which is why this is very surprising.

In fact, Splatoon is in a similar situation. As big as that game is, it's true, the Squid Sisters really are being blatantly shoehorned into everything. They have quite a vocal following too, but at least they're always doing things of major importance in the game, so they're pretty much justified. So if Ashley starts appearing as a frequent guide character or gets her own Ashley-themed microgames next time, then we'll talk.

in that case, lets just ask the fictional characters if they feel satisfied wth their position.
i think you're all reading into it too deeply, because frankly, nintendo didnt plan it, its purely reactional.

i dunno.

No matter how many badges she gets, she'll still never get the most screentime of all the characters in another WarioWare game.

Who really cares, anyways? As long as Ashley keeps getting stuff like 3ds theme, badges, cameos, etc who cares what role she has in WarioWare? We don't really care if she has more on screen time or not.

Rosalina is popular, but she isn't on the box of any newer Mario games, or plays huge roles yet she is still popular, we just want to see our favorite characters, little or a lot of screen time, we're happy they are in it.

Why you going on blaming Nintendo for only acknowledging Ashley? what else do you want them to do, acknowledge 9-volt? then other people would want the rest of the cast to be acknowledged then it's a big mess after that of Mona's and jimmy's all over the place.

Because Nintendo shouldn't only be swayed by fan response. If they actually want their IPs to be successful they need to do more with them than just focus on whatever became unintentionally popular. You can't always react purely to demand. Nobody asked for Splatoon and look at how that turned out. I know the last few WarioWare games have struggled but they definitely have fan support and people would want to see more out of that series beyond just Ashley so it needs some other kind of reinvigoration that wasn't what Game & Wario was.

Are you even sure Nintendo wants anything to do with Warioware aside from Ashley these days? Like boo said, this game isn't exactly character driven so there should be no need to acknowledge it's characters if at all. The case with Ashley is she is most popular, that's it.

Apart from Wario himself, I thought Jimmy T. and Mona were the iconic faces of WarioWare. They were there since the very start and without them the show wouldn't go on. I don't think Ashley would ever take priority over them within the series.

Which makes me wonder --- does Nintendo even plan on bringing the series back anytime soon? or will we wait another few years. Warioware --- coming 2022.

That's not even the same thing. Nintendo still does some things right and some people still have faith in them.
i thinki mentioned this before, but nintendo has been acting childish imo.
miiverse aside, nintendo completely fucked up mario maker with their release policy and user level purge, they butchered the Fire Emblem localization for fear of offending people (because they think we're bigoted), and people even tried to create a petition against some of nintendo's recent releases. and frankly, they'd milk ashley for all its worth, and its worth millions of dollars to them.

now tell me, what are they doing right?

How about you answer that yourself since you're quite obviously cherry picking all the bad stuff. I never said Nintendo was free of any wrong doing and their handling of the WarioWare series was one of the complaints I said.

come on, i was expecting a better argument than "you're just a hater".

if there's one thing nintendo is good at, and every company has too be good at, it appeal, and making money of course. nintendo thrives at being "child friendly family fun". in turn, parents are more likely to buy those games for their kids, than say, CoD.

whats most potent, however, is nostalgia. people that have been with their series' for a long time will probably buy a game of the series they like on sight, and be less likely to notice a drop in quality, let alone care. because "ITS A ME, A MARIO"
