Upcoming Game Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga + Bowser's Minions (October 6th 2017)

All major bosses in Minion's Quest :

Hell yes for Fawful being the final boss, its so nice to see the guy get this much action, after so much time of absence

I dunno if the apparent mediocrity of this remake is due to being a rushed low-budget to squeeze out some more money from the 3DS until it dies or the fact the 3DS Mario & Luigis have been on autopilot

The biggest missed opportunity of this game coming out on the 3DS instead of the Switch is the lack of co-op.
The origional game could be plugged into a Gamecube Gameboy player, and then played in co-op, with one player controlling Mario and another player controlling Luigi.
I don't think Nintendo ever thought anybody would do that, but I'm sure they've heard of people doing co-op playthroughts of the game, so they could have released the game on the Switch and make the co-op an official feature in the remake.

And yeah, I agree that while the remake has some good things about it, a lot of things are just rushed.
Little Fingitown is probably my biggest dissapointment. And even the toads in Toadtown Square (I refuse to believe this area is Peach's Castle) toads - Action Icons toads, Lost Precious Belonging toad, "Show Me That Jump!" Female Toad, and the female toad who recently returned from Beanbean Kingdom and tells us about its areas - all had simple, but interesting designs, and I'm sad they're now generic toads. Gives you a lot less motivation to talk to them.

Birdo no longer grows a giant head out of anger.
This head growing effect, how come they don't do it here...

But they do it here? CONSISTENCY, PLEASE!

Is it just me, or does something about this whole remake feel very
Rushed.......?

From the inconsistency of the sprites (Using new sprites for some and using reused sprites for others.) to the lazily mixed and arguably minimalistic music compared to the GBA original to the lack of any major new content. (Outside of the Bowser's Minions Subplot.)
I don't know, Something about this remake just gives me a very rushed feeling.
Of course, I hadn't played the game yet, so I can't say for sure, but that's the general vibe I'm getting from this whole thing.

Probably just me though

lack of any major new content. (Outside of the Bowser's Minions storyline.)
That's the thing, I'm sadly not interested in the gameplay of Bowser's Minions, so that's the entirety of the new content out the window for me. If there had been additional modes for the main game, like a boss rush, a hard mode, an optional dungeon maybe, etc, I'm sure I would've loved to play it.
I wouldn't have minded if Bowser's Minions had been a seperate eShop title instead.

Also, I think it needs to be said again that the sprites that ARE properly remade look so good, that it's all the more disappointing that others are either half-assed or removed entirely (in the case of the Mecha-Chomps).
This guy for example, looks great!
Really like it.

I thought at first, "Aw, man, the spikes on the yo-yos are gone..." ...but nope, they come out when they attack:

So this one is basically perfect. They even still have the black shells on their back! S^o^

That's why the not-so-good parts are so frustrating. They have the potential, but they don't use it consistently.

Gotta agree. Had they put as effort and time into this game as was put into Odyssey, we could have had a much better game.
I don't want to play the remake anymore, I'd rather stick to the origional.
Plus, there is a romhack that makes the game harder, if anybody is interested in that.

How does it do that? Just a difference in stats or is there more to it?

Changed stats of items, enemies, equipment, etc,
Changing the item you get for quest and ?-blocks
There's also a few cosmetic changes, such as making the ?-Blocks different color depending on their contents, adding unused music to shops...

The hack is called "Mario and Luigi Superstar Saga Plus".

I can only assume the lazy/simplified design changes along with reusing other generic Mario enemy sprites from previous games also comes from the fact an old article I read talked about how long DT took to develop because of Mario and Luigi’s graphics alone surprisingly.

That and considering they’ve been putting out M&L more, They probably don’t have enough time to make that many new assets but still, Very disappointing.

Not exactly a bad remake but again: Like Klonoa on the Wii, It fails to SURPASS the original. Especially considering this moreso removes more content than it adds.

How does this affect the remake? They already have all the Mario & Luigi sprites. The time consuming part of DT was that they had to make animations for like 16 directions, with no re-uses. But Superstar Saga doesn't have that.
So if they were able to recycle so many sprites that would mean they have more time for all the other sprites.
