Haven't been in too much of a video game-y mood but I guess I have put in quite a bit of a time for some games...

I played through Sonic Mania and played enough to get all the Chaos Emeralds as Sonic. This game really was a treat for someone like my self. I'm a bit jaded towards the series with only a casual interest in what's going on lately but I'm still someone who at the core still loves the franchise. This game really just plays amazingly and reminds me of why I loved playing the Genesis games growing up. There are a few things relating to like the feel and tone of the game that I would've approached differently(I'm not a fan of the Hard Boiled Heavies)but the gameplay was just perfection.

I played a bit of A Hat in Time. Since I've only played it for like 5 hours there isn't really a whole lot I can say about it and there's more I could probably say down the line, but going off what I played....it really feels like something from a bygone era. There's just this wholesomeness and sincerity to it that just makes you feel good and nostalgic even though this game isn't aiming to be a spiritual successor like Yooka-Laylee. Yet it also manages to have its own character. A little rough around the edges (mediocre camera and a tad short) but it's really quite a nice little game.

Ace Attorney: Miles Edgeworth Investigations, the only game here that has nothing to do with nostalgia for me. After feeling a bit conflicted with Apollo Justice this one I felt much better about. I felt a greater appreciation towards Edgeworth and while Franziska was starting to grow on me in Trials and Tribulations, I really started to like her more with this game. While I wouldn't put it quite on par with the first or third games of the original trilogy; taking down the final bad guy was as good as in most other Ace Attorney game, the overarching story felt a little plain. However, I'd say it fits in the Ace Attorney series better than Apollo Justice and for that I would say I like it more.

I managed to find Chibo Robo for 3ds used for €6, so I'm playing that.

Playing through Super Mario Odyssey 100% for the third time, except this time:
I'll be getting the 880 moons and not buy the other 119 moons and Skeleton suit as the coin grinding takes too long. I like to think of the extra moons as being 101% or something kinda like Donkey Kong.

In 1991, Aero Fighters came out and it was Good. After developing the first Aero Fighters, the game's director had a disagreement with Video System's management over switching focus from games using a 3:4 screen to a more conventional 4:3 screen and took a bunch of employees with him to found a company named Psikyo, which made its life mission to copy-paste Aero Fighters as much as humanly possible. This mean the 90's saw a lot of very difficult vertical shmups with randomly ordered, extremely short stages, wacky dialogues and endings for each colourful characters, and plenty of recycled sprites.

To be fair, Sengoku ace, Psikyo's first game, does add to the Aero Fighters by including a charge shot mechanic but because of how long it takes to use it, it's mostly only good during stretchs of dead air. Of the early psikyo games, Sengoku Ace is my favourite: the fantastial feudal japan theme is very cool, and the difficulty feels far more balanced than many of psikyo's other game. Bullets fly fast but patterns are not overtly dickish and boss battles don't wear out their welcome. You also get some amusingly deranged characters, such as a dogfight-obssessed dog who somehow pilots a YF-23 and an old man in a wooden x-wing who endlessly rants about klling pagans. And it's 8 bux on the switch eshop so....

I was playing ys (ark of something or other) for ps2 a few months ago, and I way liked it. But I got stuck at the watery cave, my character was strong enough that any other baddie took one hit to kill and gave me so little exp that it didnt even matter if I killed them, but the monsters to the part I got stuck at were so powerful I stood no chance to beat them . So I felt pretty hopless and just stopped playing after a while.

(I hate when games do that btw, is an artificial difficulty, isnt really "hard", just causes you to waste more time level grinding)

I was having fun though, so I got a game similar to it for the same console, shining force neo from sega. The game is the same style, hack and slash action adventure rpg. It even has more going on for it too, more character customization, a party that joins you, a bigger story. It's funny though, despite all these improvements the game just doesn't feel as fun to play : (

Isnt it weird how that can ruin a game? Everything about the game is great, therese nothing really WRONG with it, it just doesn't feel fun. I dunno what it is that causes it to happen, but its just not enjoyable : ( is a bummer

Alot of talk of Mario Odyssey on the WF Discord during the Ballon World update so i got in that mood and started a second play through of Odyssey and i recently got to Bublaine but now i'm all Mario'd out. I moved on to a 2nd BotW play through cuz i gotta play dat new fangled Switchy thingy lots.

Assuming i don't burn out from this too my next play through should be more through, more shrines sidquests, etc.
Last time i just got 4 divine beasts, master sword, all memories, true ending.
But i still lack things liked the three ponds with the dragons or a fuckton of weapon space.

Oh, speaking of Mario, I did decided to give Super Paper Mario another chance.

While no where near as great as ttyd, it is a fun game and Im enjoying it. While I like that I can play as Peach, I think its kinda pointless as she cant switch to a 3d perspective, something you have to do pretty much always, so you only ever use for little tasks here and there. Is kinda a bummer.

I beat spm. I really liked the ending, it was super nice. Made me tear up a bit : pp While not being as great as ttyd, it has a great story that makes it worth playing.

I was on my way to 100%'ing Finding Nemo Continuing Adventures, but then I evidently misread or mistyped my password, and now I can't proceed. >.< I could start all over, but I don't really feel like doing that... d:p My younger brother was playing the game as well, though, a while ago, so I hope he's still got a password with reasonable completion, so I don't need to redo everything.

After I discovered I couldn't continue playing Finding Nemo Continuing Adventures, I figured I'd try out Woody Woodpecker in Crazy Castle 5. I thought that was a really lame game, from what I remembered. But it seems I was mistaken! The gameplay is actually quite fun, and the graphics are really fun and quite impressive, especially for 2002. I'm having a good time with it! d:)

I've been playing Metroid Prime 3 lately. I like it, but I can't help but think that all of them are soooo similar to each other. There are no big gimmicks or improvements on the others, except that you can fly her spaceship sometimes. I hope the 4th one does something exciting, like letting you fly around space or whatever.

I played the first two prime games on gamecube. Prime 3 felt different to me, it felt more actiony than the first two. But that may be because the first two werent motion control for me.

Makes me think playing the first two on gamecube is the better way to play the games : p
