obligatory "What vidcons are you playing????" thread

Ratchet & Clank (2016 Game) is pretty cool, though I can definitely see how people may complain about many layouts being similar to the PS2 original compared to the reimagining; many of the levels are pretty similar, if not exactly the same.

Still, it's a great game, and definitely worth owning if you have a PS4.

In the month May, so far: Mario Kart: Super Circuit, Rayman 2, Koro koro Kirby, The Lost Levels, various hacks of Super Mario Kart, and of course Super Mario Maker.

Today, I got

The last installment in the famed Rogue Squadron series (though Lair is basically Rogue Squadron 4), infamous for introducing terribad on-foot segments and having Rogue Leader's campaign as its co-op mode, which probably got more play than the actual game.

The on-foot segments didn't bug me as much as I expected. Like, they're bad, but they're short and mindless enough (unlimited ammo, shots that automatically lock on the nearest enemy etc, you get the picture) that they don't disrupt the flow of Rogue Squadron's gameplay. On the other hand, the flight sections have some problems. The developers tried to escalate thing and make them huge battlefields with hundreds of fighters buzzing around, bit can be difficult to find your bearings. This is best exemplified in the mission "Battlefield Hot" where the last part is you escorting three freighters. The mission area is big enough it's difficult to find the bombers you're suppsoed to hunt even if you use the target view, made more annoying by the endless bellyaching from the escortees.

The game also introduces levels in the AT-ST walker and the speeder bike, and they're actually quite fun! One particularly great mission midway through the game has you capturing an AT-ST and doing a rampage through a bomb factory before hijacking an AT-AT. Overal, it's still a worthy Rogue Squadron.

I remember trying that game, and being really put off by the on foot parts : p Felt lazy, like if they were gonna add that they should have done it well, otherwise it was just a huge waste of time and space : p

I never had problems with the foot segments, infact I enjoyed playing them. Also the Slave 1 and Jedi Starfighter is way too over powered with the seismic charges. May those ships always be banned in the multiplayer.

I'm now starting my first ever playthough of Mother 3, via the fan translation patch, I was meaning to wait for an announcement of western EU VC release, but since we won't get anything non-Zelda related this E3 that probably won't be happening anytime soon, plus, I already got the other two Mother games via VC and plan to get Mother 3 should it ever be made available for european audiences, so I don't feel too guilty about resorting to emulation.

@Magma Oh nice, now try to beat that game under 50 minutes. Granted you'll have to learn all the tricks like getting the Varia suit only 8 minutes into the game and some hidden passages, but it's pretty fun to speed through it again.

I've been juggling a few old favourites of mine lately.

Getting 100% in Mario 3d world with my sister, all we need to do now is get all flagpoles with every character. Not an easy task, lol. We mostly stuck with Mario and Luigi, so now we need to reach all flagpoles with Peach, Toad and the secret character.

Ive been wanting to play a game again lately, but havetn motivated myself to do it : / Have been thinking of getting back into Harvest Moon though.

And haha, I almost never actually beat games : p Ive only beaten a handful of them, Ive even gotten to like final bosses in games and never even finished them : p Dunno why but I often just dont complete them, as much as I like them : p

I do generally complete the handheld games I start within a year, the console games may take a bit longer. I don't 100% most of them, though. Even Yoshi's Island I have not 100%'ed yet.

Spoilers usually arent a big problem for me, as far as I can remember, Ive only had two games spoiled for me, and only one of them felt like it was ruined : p the other one was just kinda lame and bummed me out a bit : p
