I actually own Bubsy 3D, mainly because I'm a fan of Bubsy's creator (Michael Berlyn) who was a prolific designer/author in his day. The original Bubsy for Sega Mega Drive was also one of the first games I ever asked my mother to buy in the early 90's. I still get countless hours of fun from it today, and despite the universal hate Bubsy gets now on the internet, the first Bubsy was a really hot platformer back in the day.

Bubsy 3D has aged overwhelmingly, and I won't try to defend its gameplay (or the voice they chose for Bubsy), but to its credit, the game had a lot of very good animation sequences, and charming music in some levels (the theme to the first water level is among my all-time favourites). The swimming controls were very well-designed also.
The creators had precious-little to work with back then. This interview best explains the plight of humble development houses at the dawn of full 3D/polygonal platformers.

Whats JWF?

And Angler of Lake Asparagus's signature always tricks me. Like, everytime I go to like his posts, I put my cursor over the dotted line he has seperating his signature, the ---------------------------------- thing, and like I move my cursor back and forth thinking like "why wont the ratings appear? D : <" , haha.

Pfffft I think that sign is great : p Its way more interesting than Canada's : p

Lame freaking hipsters would hate the way America did it no matter how it looked : p

Even if you're not patriotic, you can atleast thank our greatest American hero, Edward Blake!
