Yep. I mean the sections themselves need a lot of work anyway, honestly, but making some difference between the two characters would have probably made it a bit less... awkward?
Yeah, I didnt really feel like there was any diversity because of it, and like it kinda ruined Knuckles in the game for me. I mean he just felt like Rouge the Bat with Knuckles body : p Felt like it was lazy. I did really like playing Rouge's stages though : p I both liked the character and I dont mind collectathons : p
I mean, I didn't think it was offputting. Knuckles plays like Knuckles, and Rouge is a reskin of that but with jiggle physics on her breasts and ears. The only really offputting part was how Tails is in a mech despite having a very clearly defined playstyle from previous games, which is still largely coded into the game in the Chao Garden.
It sort of astounds me how much I love chao gardens, I just love the stupid doofus chaos a bit too much for my own good.

I never got to play with them in the Dreamcast games but I loved it in the Advance series. I wish I got to play with them more though.
Sometimes my Sonic Advance game would just randomly like, revert to some old save file i guess, and i'd be able to play in the chao garden and I would basically refuse to shut off the game for a few days just so I could keep playing.
Mine did that a few times too. I remember booting up Advance 2 one night and having all of the Chao activities unlocked. I had to reboot it during the session and when I did everything was locked up again.
