I'm sure 9-Volt is excited AF now.
I don't like that one as much as the other 2. They just threw a filter over a screenshot instead of drawing the background in the same style as Mario.View attachment 5366 https://www.twitter.com/mario_odysseyJP/status/914606238855516161
More glorious 2D Artwork featuring New Donk City
Yeah, it looks very jarring considering the other places have been in full 2D but considering New Donk City is pretty jarring looking compared to the other lands. That's probably intentional.I don't like that one as much as the other 2. They just threw a filter over a screenshot instead of drawing the background in the same style as Mario.

And speaking of New Donk City
This is something else.
That's not a bad thing though as this has got to be one of Nintendo's best commericals ever in recent years.
I'll be your 1-UP girl. And 1UP girls. I think... Are they still around?

Are there two Toadettes now? Toadette and "Archivist" Toadette like that Captain Toad nonsense?
Fat Luigi confirmed to appear after a 25-year absence.
That's a pretty interesting observation but I can't really see it being that way. Weird character designs have been seen before such as in Super Mario Sunshine, and while not as expansive as this we have gotten quite a lot of transformation based gameplay over the years in Mario games. I'm also pretty sure a lot of the Wario Land developmental guys aren't very hands-on nowadays also.By the way, is it just me, or does the game seem to have a lot more influence from the Wario Land series? The weirdness (Particularly with the new character designs and especially the boss battles), transformation-based gameplay and puzzles based around them, larger focus on coins and losing them instead of lives when you die, non-standard level settings that are more open and have more to collect in them, etc. Wouldn't surprise me if it was intentional, since this game is made by a merger (Nintendo EPD) of the first four Wario Land games/WarioWare team (Nintendo R&D1/SPD) and the main Mario team (Nintendo EAD).
