It just makes me want to throw up seeing this. AI should not be using forum boards as information sources, and it also makes me want to throw up seeing how many people use Gen-AI to do stuff like getting information, when AI is bad on SO MANY LEVELS.

Fortunately a lot of those aren't related to AI services. For example, Ahrefs is an SEO measurement tool, and quite a few others are search crawlers.

I probably should look into blocking the likes of OpenAI at some point though.

alexa would be another one to block, since that could spread misinformation (she scrapes sites when asked a question, my Alexa even says where she got the information when I ask her a question)

Seriously, I was kinda skeptical about the focus about speed in the game since a lot of speedy indie games have the issue of not being very fun for me since they are usually more style over substance but this is not this game's case.

Gonna be honest, if Nintendo and Illumination make a Donkey Kong movie, they should just remake/repurpose the Return to Krocodile Isle animation as the reveal trailer.

We all know K Rool and the Kremlings will be the villain after Bananza, and that video sells them to people perfectly.

If nothing else I would at least like to see Benedict Campbell reprise his K. Rool, he absolutely owns the voice for that character to me, and it's much more interesting than something deep and gruff like the grumbles he gets in Bananza.

I'm a big Mega Man fan (my name comes from Magma Man from Mega Man 9), though I really wish they would make something that isn't classic Mega Man for once. Still, I'm happy to see it either way.

I don't like how broad the term "puzzle game" is. When I hear "puzzle game" I think of something slower-paced that lets me take my time, to decipher clues or discover how to progress further. That can't be said about games where the main goal is to rapidly stack blocks or blobs to not only stay alive, but also get a massive combo and the highest possible score.
At the same time, when my bias is put aside, those games would still count as "puzzle games", wouldn't they? You can't just stack the blocks willy-nilly, nor can you rapidly clear them if you want a high score. You have to set them up in a way that can develop a combo in the first place, so it does take some deduction as to where you put them. You're just also put on the clock to do it as well.
Potentially related note: I still stink at Meteos!

Genres are kinda dumb anyway. Though, I thought Portal was a Puzzle-Platformer? Regardless, people keep reaching me saying "Oh you like Metroid? Then here are 1000 Metroidvanias" and I never really enjoy any of them. Because I don't like "genres", I like games specifically.

"Puzzle" as a whole isn't really a helpful term since it usually means either a falling block game or something like a platformer that heavily incorporates puzzles into its mechanics like the aforementioned Portal. I usually don't take genres too seriously. Similar to music, I just use it as a way to find something similar to what I already like.

Every smth like 6-12 months, there's a Wario Forums user who hasn't posted in years that comes back just to say hi and returns to their slumber. I think this is in relation with the alignment of the stars or something.

It still bothers me that my old WarioWare art get attention than my newer better stuff. Even though I delve back in Kirby and Pokemon, I’m still going to focus away from Nintendo stuff.

Yeah, I get it. You've indicated before that you haven't really been interested in Wario for a while now. Still it's nice to see an old face show up from time to time. I myself only show up from time to time as well. It's just interesting how people still find themselves showing up here even after so many years.

And yeah, that seems to be the case for most people who make stuff. You never know what ends up being the stuff that ends up getting the most attention.

Well overrated means that a game is judged to be better than it actually is, but if everyone is saying that a game is regarded too highly, than the game is no longer overrated because the people who regarded the game as better than it actually is are now a minority, if that makes sense.

Kinda like bragging about being humble makes you less humble if that makes sense.

A game being bad is different because it's not dependent on the general perception of a game.

Im a newbie here but I genuinely love this place despite it only being semi active! this is like only place where I can yap about my life long hyper specific interest in wario without getting looked funny at. If I wasn't such a scardey pants back then over ANY social interactions I might couldve joined here during times where this place was more active but, this is already more than I could've asked for!

I'm not sure what to do. Feels like my life has fallen apart near completely, and I don't see any good future ahead here. The only things that keep me going are my main projects and the need to finish them both.

You're not alone and I hope you get the help you need man. Life can be pretty shitty sometimes but quiting it isn't the answer.

Maybe in 2026 a new Wario Land game gets announced. You don't wanna miss that.

I hope you're right about a new Wario Land game, though I've been optimistic about it for the last 2 decades without much to show for that.

And all I do is annoy people or scare them away, so it's probably better for the rest of society if I go away for good.

The fact that you think you are a burden to people already shows you're a good enough person to care about others.

Perhaps you should try to see a therapist/psychologist if you haven't already. It might be hard to decide that but if you've been thinking that there is no better future for a while now, I think it's worth a shot. A lot people feel ashamed in seeking help when they need it.
