[DEAD] Wario Land 3 Hack Project

In other news I don't know if we'll ever use these but I made different tiles for the lamp posts so you can make them much taller. I changed the angle of the light to make it easier to loop.

I also thought it'd be fun to make one of the treasures just a smaller treasure chest. ^^
Made 2 versions.
.....and there's a random diamond. :P

Oh my, I absolutely LOVE the Treasure in a Treasure idea!
 
Dangit! I wanted to try the puzzle but then I got this message...
So all I could do was take a screenshot. :C

Edit: I also added a bit for a Wario Coin. You have to throw the enemy up there and then jump on it to reach the higher area.

The memory allocation system is a bit better than it was, so hopefully that error won't be much of a problem in v0.5...

The only way to fix it in that version would be to decrease the size of the flag data... that means making many consecutive sets of flags the same. But that could screw up the tileset. Sorry :(

I have an idea on how to add a tiny bit more challange to this. I'll show it later
Also, i want Wario to enter room 1 throught a pipe, so that he can't bring the invicibilaty from a diferent part of the level into here.
By the way, the jump on to the green platform on the very right of room 1 looks imposible.

Only 1 problem: the professor can walk through 1 block gaps. So the player could also put the professor down and let him walk through there.

Snowball Wario is a very underated mechanic. In the origional game, it was used only twice, both times in the same level, for optional treasures.
What we could do:
  • Have Snowball Wario in The Warped Void. With portals! :D
  • Have the Green Chest in A Town In Chaos be inside a giant freezer, a-la Wario Land 4's 40 Below Fridge. Wouldn't that be a nice referense? :P
  • Maybe even turn Desert Ruins into a crazy place that combines the Desert and Snow themes.
 
Is there, or will there ever be a way to add custom blocks into the game?
I really want conveyour belts, even had a dream that Out Of The Woods had a conveyor belt in the Red Chest area, near the Music Coin at the right side of the room

You should consider writing a tutorial :P
 
I created 2 more sub-folders in the Hack Folder.

  • Documents - for the documentation on the editor and the game. I moved 1 mine and 2 Haiko's files in there. Hope you don't mind, Haiko :P
  • Level Design. I wrote a document for A Town In Chaos and put it in the folder. Feel free to check it out :)
