I doubt this will do anything to the Mario brand, okay it may not be great or anything, but considering we're getting Super Mario Odyssey in the winter (Which looks fantastic IMO.) and the fact that Nintendo most likely has little to do with it besides licensing and being an advisor to the project, if it does end up being a bad game or something like that, it'll most likely be swept under the rug and forgotten about soon afterwards, like a lot of Mario games not developed by Nintendo or it's partners tend to be, (Remember Puzzles and Dragons: Super Mario Bros edition? because I don't)

And who knows, maybe it could end up being decent or even good, we haven't seen the game in action yet, so who knows? (Though honestly it's very difficult to be optimistic and I truly understand why people are dreading this game's existence.)
Rabbids are the gaming world's Minions.
I'm surprised people still haven't questioned the use of English voiceovers in the Japanese versions of Mario games.

Yes, Rosetta even says "Rosalina" when you unlock her in the original MK8.

I dunno but Mario Luigi etc. Are not Japanese and it would be inconsistent to have Japanese based ones like Toad speak English. Plus while its a funny choice they learn English in school so they understand unless you live on the country side so its virtually a non problem. It would make more sense to have them speak japanese but look on the bright side, We got legendary lines such as "Looks like Mario's got to get a job!"

Why would they? People tend to get more annoyed about content being changed between versions rather than the default being English. Plus Charles Martinet basically IS Mario and co for just about everyone who plays the game.

"Captain Falcon, when are you ever getting a new game of your own?" As much as I hate to answer this with "never"...well, never.

Or at the very least, it'll be a long time before it happens.

If there's one thing I learned from the Robin/Lucina trailer, it's that Falcon really is a "Smash character" at this point.
At first glance, Odyssey still feels like a "Remember when the Mario series used to be more than just the same old 'standard' stuff? Well, here we go again!"

Nah, I still have good expectations.

No, I meant the last sentence as in, "Well, we're gonna move away from that 'standard' nonsense now".
Stage bosses in Smash Bros. seem like the kind of idea that they wanted to have more of, but it just didn't work and we ended up with just this few.

They feel like remnants of a scrapped single player adventure mode if you ask me.

Now that you mention it, they sure did. But at least Smash Run finally got enemies right.
You know game manuals are a thing of the past when the game itself is telling you everything you need to know.

No see, what I'm saying is, all that other rich stuff that was in the manual is also present in the game. Haven't you been paying any attention to most games since 2000-ish? They have in-game info menus that cover damn near everything in there, like every character and item. Tutorials aren't the only things.

Which sucks because sometimes the manual was damn enjoyable to read. I mean, Wario and co basically narrated the manuals for some of their games. Wario Land Shake It's one had a sticker book. Donkey Kong Country/64 ones had Cranky Kong breaking the fourth wall like a loon and mocking the manual's conventions. Etc. All that stuff is mostly gone now.

Though the treasure listings in Wario Master of Disguise and Wario Land Shake It are funny to read, I'll say that.
I wish WarioWare Smooth Moves were available for pseudo-VC download on the Wii U eShop.

*In 90s teenager voice* Yeah get on with the times man! XD but just to be serious, I wouldn't fault you for not knowing about it, it pretty much came out of complete nowhere and since it had none of the virtual console elements (Just imagine playing a Wii Game on the Wii U without having to insert a disc and that's all it was. No miiverse functionality, no save states, no nothing.) plus that ridiculously high price, (Seriously 20 bucks? you can find a hard copy in good condition for only 8 bucks on Amazon and I only payed 15 bucks for mine.) And the lack of promotion overall, It just kinda disappeared to time and space, which is sad as smooth moves is my personal favorite in the series, but alas.

That, and the Wii U is pretty much done now.

Did we never get the names of the boss Tikis from DKCR? How lazy and stupid were they to forget this, when they gave them to everything else in the game?

We did apparently get names for them. World 1 - Kalimba Tiki, World 2 - The Maraca Tiki Trio, World 3 - Gong Tiki, World 4 - Bango Tiki, world 5 - Panflute Tiki, World 6 - Xylophone Tiki, World 7 - Accordion Tiki, World 8 - Tiki Tong (The final boss.) Now this info does come from the Mario Wiki, so I don't know how reliable this is, but it's the closest I got in terms of an answer? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Yeah, it kinda looks like the localization team on Smash 4 trophies looked over there for reference. (Yeah, some of them are mentioned in those boss trophies) Kalimba's got his own trophy, and seems to be the one who stands out the most. But hey, it all adds up.
I wanted to show you guys an old WarioWare-like Flash game made by...Altoids, but it seems to be long gone now.
Remember when some of the characters in DIY said that they were quitting WarioWare and joining some other company? Some people actually thought that this spelled the end of the series.

No, some people actually did believe that based on those. Have you found them in DIY?
Has Miyamoto ever given his thoughts on the Mega Man games?
