  • One thing that I find interesting about the human condition is; right now I'm currently listening to music, and it sounds loud to me, despite my volume only being at 32%. Meanwhile, I distinctly remember thinking to myself that '52% sounded too quiet' just this morning.

That's because your hearing isn't always equally sensitive. This could be because your ears have to get some rest after they are exposed to sound, music for example, for an extended amount of time. Make sure you give your ears the rest they deserve, or else you might get hearing damage.
the nexrt thing i saw, fat albert was on screen, but je looked too far realistic for NES.
"hey hey hey, you're gonna die kid" i dident believe my ears, that was some crisp audio? not even bitcrushed at all! what was going on here???

    I love it.
Could we please change the name of the Haha reaction back to "Funny"
There are so many different tiers of amusement, both above and below that which would accompany a "haha". Obviously, this goes for WF post reactions, too and also, "haha" next to the cry-laughing emoji looks really dumb
does anyone know how I can get my hands on the old Android emoji's, the ones they've apparently gotten rid of in favor of some more universal (read: bland) updates? I've got some Lo-Res JPEG's on my PC already, but I want HQ copies if I can get them. These loser journalist sites are somehow able to get them, so how do I do that?

I suppose I could try to basically put in each and every one of them into a Memo on my phone, then take a screencap. ...Assuming said phone hasn't been "updated" already.

Emojipedia might have what you want. They show how emoji look on different devices as well as showing older versions of emojis from previous builds.
One of my favorite le monke moments of the gaming industry was when Rare was showing off their working prototype for Donkey Kong Country, and the executives went over and checked to make sure they weren't cheating by having a hidden IBM computer behind the scenes running SAWCH STUHNNING AWNBELIEVABLE GREAPHICS

Yeah, Donkey Kong Country's graphics were amazing, especially for the time.
I wonder where that mini-trope of Volcano music using Xylophones comes from. Not even Marimbas (because obviously that's due to Hawaii being a thing), but xylophones specifically. I've heard this phenomenon from two completely unrelated games, and I'm sure they're not the only ones that do this.

What the hell is this "Mood" thing doing beneath my name on thread posts all of a sudden

edit: oh, thank god-- at least they're not distracting-ass GIFs anymore.
You know-- it wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if at least one of the songs from Wario Land: Shake It! was inspired by Duran Duran. In particular Electric Barbarella feels like it could work as the Exploration theme for that one futuristic level.

Given Tomoya Tomita took inspiration from pop culture and other media when composing the soundtrack for Shake It, that wouldn't be too unsurprising.

Well, one thing is for sure, Wario Land: Shake It! has one of the best video game soundtracks ever! ¡En serio!

Duran Duran indeed sounds a bit Wario Land-like. Either that, or Wario Land sounds a bit Duran Duran-like at times.
One of my favorite little things you see in video games is when the terminology is very obviously just a real-life English word with some bits sawed off or changed to a different letter. Metroid is the prime example, here. Crateria = Criteria, Varia = Variant/Variable (in reference to its all-purpose environmental capability), and like, Norfair is literally just "Not fair" but someone's finger was a couple millimeters too far left of the T key.

    Track unrelated

No, that pun actually wasn't done on purpose-- the fact that it was coincidental is the reason I'm keeping it in.

i'm sure some of you gyablins will appreciate this song. i honestly wonder how close my envisioned gato is to the real one, if at all
EarthBound soundfont life hack: you can make the Taiko Drum preset sound like it's coming from somewhere else in the room by increasing the Attack time.
Dude, this assignment I've been working on has been such a slog that my ADD's been making me feel like I have Lyme's Disease for the past three days.
