Fire Emblem Fates looks to be an interesting localizing adventure so far. That's how fanservicey they've been lately.
I'm not talking about the localization lol. I'm talking about the raw stuff from Japan. The localized version should be how the game was intended however it turns out.Fire Emblem Fates looks to be an interesting localizing adventure so far. That's how fanservicey they've been lately.

"Also, he's saying "and in the middle of true love's true love! Valentine's Day Ashley-sama~ (I dunno if the "in the middle of true love's true love" passage is an idiom or something)"
"so anyway, the second panel is "Holding [some] homemade chocolates while resting! Sitting Ashley-sama is also super-cute!"
"and the last one is "Valentine's Day Ashley / Witch-in-training's homemade chocolates! [Will those who] eat it magically fall in love!?"
Don't take this the wrong way but I just don't find anything compelling about Ashley. While I like the Ware cast as a whole I don't find any of the characters to really be characters you can get into and they're not meant to be. Ashley is not really unique in any regard and is just a mashup of popular tropes that make for a character that gets cheap popularity. Nintendo is clearly pandering to the loli loving otaku crowd and not fans of the actual series otherwise they'd at least acknowledge the big man Wario himself but they don't even do that. Putting him with Mario doesn't count.Come on, don't be that way. Just cheer up, Ashley is probably keeping the series alive at this point. (My Big airhead opinion and probably not the case, lol.)
What's wrong with Ashley anyways, isn't she a great character? People can relate to her, she wants to make friends but she's either to shy or doesn't wanna try in fear of rejection. (something alone those lines.) I can relate, I'm great with making friends online, but in real life I'm shy and suck with words. lol.
It's not really disrespectful if you think of it, it's just a nod to us fan of Ashley anyways. Nintendo knows we like her, so they give us more of her, doesn't mean the other characters will be forgotten.
You know, I'm really starting to feel the same way.I almost would rather the series just die than have these Ashley things that feel like a massive tease. They're nothing major but the frequency of this blatant Ashley fanservice feels disrespectful for fans of the actual games.
I don't see her on the boxarts of its last few games, do you?
As mentioned before by many, she's a mash up of things that people find appealing to make for a character that has cheap popularity than one that is unique and has a popularity unique to them.ah, well I was about to say until the Mario doesn't count came along. Well, I agree the characters seem made up just for this one game. I don't know what's up with Ashley though, I hear Japan likes girls like Ashley.
But I like her a lot because I can relate to the shy to make friends part, but I still find her cute.
Maybe because when those Warioware games came out she wasn't as popular as she is today?
Does that make Ashley the Rosalina of Warioware?Daily reminder that Jimmy and Mona are still the Luigi and Peach of WarioWare.
Her wanting to have friends isn't even well integrated into her character. She hardly even has character to speak of aside from what is pretty much told to us.
And this is what I mean by her popularity being unwarranted aside from being cheaply popular.Yeah, but can you blame her? Characters in Warioware were not really meant to have a full backstory to them, just characters to start and host the minigames. Ashley seemed to be the most loved though, so she stuck around.
We can only go off so much. Rosalina is interesting because she got a back story, that's character development. Ashley can't have a backstory, unless she can get one which is unlikely, so we just gotta go by description.
