Game music you like


This short, simple tune gives me such a nostalgic and even a slightly melancholic feeling. It has probably to do with the fact that this was one of my most beloved childhood games.
And still, I don't understand why people don't like this game. I have always liked it, and still do. Such an underrated game. It was the first Mario Party game on a handheld, and despite only having four playable characters it has more than enough challenge. Also, this was the first time that I heard about Toadette, so I always associate this tune with her.
 
Good golly, Miss Molly! One of my all-time favourite pieces of 'rustic' game music. Yes, sirree. If I were an old bearded prospector, I'd sit on the porch all day strumming this ditty on the banjo, drinking moonshine and cracking jokes with a t-shirt-wearing anthropomorphic bobcat. Tarnations and yee-haws all round!

 
The soundtrack to BUG! is pretty unexceptional (it's passable, pleasing even, but too simple and repetitive to be lsitened outside of the context of the game) but man, I love the boss theme

Yah, it's one of those knee-slapping boss tracks that builds in percussion and sounds good when it reaches the end/loop point. I've always admired tracks that can grow more infectious when they restart, rather than get tedious.

Some of Dynamite Headdy's music achieved that for me, especially the crazy marionette boss' theme...

Speaking of 3DO titles, I've always loved this short, repetitive honky-tonk piece from Cowboy Casino. It's by no means impressive, it's just a jaunty little theme that adds to the lively atmosphere (heard throughout this intro movie).

Sadly, these old card simulators are so darn obscure, nobody pays them priority in the soundtrack ripping community...

I don,t know why SOA decided to replace the entire soundtrack with stuff like this for the US release of a fairly straight futuristic racer, but I don,t mind. It's more distinctive than the forgettable electronica of the original, at least.
