I thought you retired from being provocative, Kyon. Or do you truly believe Wario Land fans want Ashley shamelessly shoehorned into the 23+ year old series? It wouldn't be respectful treatment of either party. I know that as a Wario Land fan, and you should know that as an Ashley fan.
You don't speak for all fans, Angler.
There are those who are fans of both and would love to see the Ware crew somehow incorporated in Land. Much like how people would like to see Waluigi in games outside the sports/parties. Point is that if it is to be done, it needs to be done well. What Kyon actually suggested was mini-games- something the Ware cast already does, just placed in a Land game(as a bonus). That's actually a great idea, even if I don't agree that Ashley should be the only one in that case(though I do think it shouldn't be all the Ware cast, limit it to say, Mona, 9-volt, Jimmy and Ashley so you don't need to bother with assets for a massive amount of characters and take away from the focus on making the platforming great).
That being said, Kyon then went :
Wario Land + Ashley : Switch
No, just no. Even if she was included as a secondary playable character(and not just in minigames but in the actual platforming) she should not get included in the title. Just call it Warioland Switch. Heck, if it happened, and you wanted to show she was the second character, even
Wario Land SWitch would be better.
That's why Smash Bros is such a blow to Wario's oldest fans. There's no respect for the character's identity and heritage.
I have argued at length about this in other threads. Brawl Wario is incredibly honest to the character's identity and heritage. His actual, JAPANESE one, not the american take on him. The only real problem with him is removing his shoulder charge in Smash 4- that was pretty unforgiveable. Brawl Wario is a better representation of the character than I've ever seen a fan come up with, and leagues ahead of Project M.
Brawl Wario represented Land, World, Ware, and the characters portrayal(in Japan). PM is american Wario with no Ware at all- he's fun to play, but a much worse blow against fans of all the Wario series.
If you think Brawl Wario is a "blow to his oldest fans", you take an America-centric view, and a rather reductive view of Wario in general.
