sounds like a vocaloid. also, i think the japanese lyrics translated to english end up being way different from the localized version.
would rate it a jealous american that secretly likes anime out of 10.
They are quite different actually. here are the original japanese lyrics for example. (Translated of course.)

Everyone in the world’s favorite person
That person is…
Ashley!
Everyone will turn to take a look,
Naturally, it’s Ashley!
The one admired by everyone in the world,
That person is…
Ashley!
Lady Ashley’s magic is supreme!
There’s gonna be a party tonight!

NAWA BUNA NUU A spell to make you laugh!
JIO IRA UN What kind of spell is this?
IO DI EMU I can’t remember this one!
Ah! No! So boring!*

Everyone in the world’s favorite person
That person is…
Ashley!
Lady Ashley’s magic is supreme!
Nothing scares me!

The night sky is like a vast sea with many stars,
I am always alone
I want to be on good terms with everyone…
What should I do?

Everyone in the world’s favorite person
That person is…
Ashley!
Lady Ashley’s magic is supreme!
There’s gonna be a party tonight!

& here's the offically localized lyrics for comparsion.

Who’s the girl next door living in the haunted mansion?
You’d better learn my name, ’cause I am–
ASH-LEY!
She knows the darkest spells and she brews the meanest potions
You might be the ingredient I seek
Don’t let yourself be fooled by her innocent demeanor
You better be afraid of the great–
ASH-LEY!
She doesn’t play with dolls and she never combs her hair
Who has time for girly things like that?

Eye of newt, I cast a hex on you
Grandma’s wig, this will make you big
Kitten spit, soon, your pants won’t fit
Pantalones giganticus! Oh, no! Not again…

She can rule the world and still finish all her homework
Everyone knows that I’m the greatest–
ASH-LEY! You better watch your step, or she’ll cast a spell on you
I turned my teacher into a spoon

I’m a slave to my spells, well, I guess it’s true
I don’t have as many friends as you
But I think you’re nice, and maybe we could be friends
And if you say “no”, you’re toast

Who’s the girl next door living in the haunted mansion?
You’d better learn my name ’cause I am–
ASH-LEY! Just remember this when you see her on the street
I’m the cruelest (coolest) girl you’ll ever meet.

Here's an excerpt from a blogpost i read regarding the differences between the two variations
-The Japanese version portrays a more shy/reserved/lonely, younger girl. In the English version, she is much more of the cool/grim/morbid/”wisecracking”/apathetic teen sort. Her age is stated as “15 going on 500” here in English, but nothing for certain in Japanese.

here's the site if you want to check it out.
It's an intresting analysis into the differences between how the West & Japan portrayed her.

Just Treehouse being Treehouse i guess.

After all, it's not the first time they did something like this.

Probably changed it to better fit her character, as pointed out Ashley's western counterpart better fits the Ashley seen in her video game appearances, though she shares some traits with Ashley's Japan counterpart, like wanting friends and such.

I've read that site awhile ago, a pretty good read for people wanting to look more into her character(s), the way I see it, there are two versions of her, not one. I prefer how the west portrays her, manly because I like the strong personality they gave her! I don't like the shy types (even though I am shy myself Xp)

Even before this site, I knew there were differences, but this site goes into way better detail.

This beat is just amazing! I just found it and have been blasting it. ;p

Like Wario, i tend to prefer a mixture of the two. (Cool headed & shy like her japanese version, but aloof & brash like her western self)

Oh yeah, this is just my opinion, but that remix is crap. (If you like it though, that's cool.)

Sorry for the double posting, but out of all the Ashley remixes, this is my personal favorite. (Jazz just fits Ashley well in my opinion.)

It's from a fan album based on Super Smash Bros. Brawl
& It's a pretty damn good album in my opinion.

Just to share another remix This is also another favorite of mine.

It's a acapella remix, so there are no instruments, but the person that plays Ashley is practically perfect.
(What helps is that she's actually a kid, so you can actually imagine Ashley herself singing this.)

Reminds me of Smooth McGroove. Does he still make video's by the way?
I haven't seen any new uploads of him and I would like to see him doing a Wario song.

Yes, but not at the rate that he does before,
It happens with all Youtubers though, the higher the quality of the video, the longer i'll take for it to be released. (Plus life in general.)
That's just how it works in the Youtube world though.

"I wonder what kind of gifts Ashley would deliver....could be scary..."
- Bunny [badge arcade]

The Ashley holiday badges are out in North America. Strangely enough it's the new Ashley badge Japan recently got! we also got Last year's Holiday Ashley badge.
