Alright, now let's move onto Ashley's game.
It's a Metroidvania in her mansion (alongside a few other areas outside of it). She starts off with only a basic wand(Red) attack to defend herself from enemies. But upon exploring the mansion further, she'll gain access to her many special spells (obtaining them like in 2D Metroid).
As for the spells, they can not only put enemies at bay, but can also be used to solve puzzles. They all have a limited amount of energy, though. You can switch them at any time, Mega Man-style. Defeated enemies can also drop potions that will restore their energy (also Mega Man-style). They run on a level-up/exp system. The more you use them, the more exp they gain. Their max level is 3, and they work in different ways depending on the level, yielding different results.
Ice Spell
Lv 1: Launches a small snowball straight forward.
Lv 2: Casts and icy mist that freezes anything in its way.
Lv 3: Makes a large ice cube appear. It can be pushed or jumped on to reach higher ground.
Can freeze any water anywhere.
Fire Flurry
Lv 1: Launches a small magma rock forward.
Lv 2: Three fireballs will revolve around Ashley, and act as a shield. Press the button to fire one of them.
Lv 3: Casts fire forward like a flamethrower.
Can melt ice and burn stubborn plants.
Plant Cutter
Lv 1: A leaf will appear to do a quick slash.
Lv 2: A seed will be planted on the ground, to bloom into a flower that will open up and briefly slash at anything nearby.
Lv 3: A huge, thorned vine will be launched and comes back to Ashley like a boomerang.
Can cut anything...well, cuttable.
Stone Smash
Lv 1: Casts a small rock forward.
Lv 2: Makes a larger boulder appear, which can be pushed and rolled forward, to break down anything heavy in the way.
Lv 3: Summons three boulders one after another, dropping onto the ground, and on enemies.
Can break durable obstacles in the way.
Water Power
Lv 1: Shoots a small stream of water forward.
Lv 2: Casts a bubble to trap enemies and also ride/float around in. (Jump into it to do the latter)
Lv 3: Casts a wave of water forward.
Can extinguish fire and water certain plants.
Thunder Rush
Lv 1: Fires a small electric shot.
Lv 2: Fires a laser that bounces around the walls.
Lv 3: Casts a wave of electric energy along the ground.
Can power up any powered-down machines, or light up dark rooms (hit a lightbulb with it to do this).
Wind Attack
Lv 1: Shoots a small gale forward.
Lv 2: Launches a gust that pushes things. (Like the Gust Bellows in Skyward Sword/Smash 4)
Lv 3: Creates a strong tornado that traps any enemies in the way.
Can blow/push certain things around, and spin anything windmill-like.
Well, since their levels all work differently, you could switch between them with the touch screen (so long as that spell is active), as long as their levels have been reached.
I'll get to the enemies and bosses another time. Bosses are weak to certain spells.
