Seems Australian buyers get WarioWare Gold stickers when pre-ordering the game:

The blurb said he was 2018 years old, unless I misread the weird Engrish translation.
Earth is 2018 years old, Orbulon's age isn't mentioned, I think. Although Earth is much older than 2018 years, but I guess he means we're at the year 2018 or the Gregorian calendar. I don't read Japanese very well (yet). :P
It was said that he went to Earth 1000 years ago.
Orbulon did. Jesus did not.

Speaking of records, I'm really furious about something...
There's a Four Seasons record and a Drifting Away record. That part is great. However, while the Four Seasons one basically sounds the same as the Gamecube version, the Drifitng Away record is slightly different...
...but...
IT'S STILL JUST AS GODDAMN SHORT AS THE GAMECUBE VERSION!!!

THIS WAS THE PERFECT CHANCE TO MAKE A DEFINITIVE VERSION OF THIS SONG AND THEY SQUANDERED IT!
It's just one loop. One short loop that very hastily switches between the different instrumentations.
But it switches between them at different points and in a different order compared to the Gamecube version, so obviously Nintendo must still have full versions of each section in their archives, which they used in order to make this version.
SO WHY DIDN'T THEY INCLUDE THEM ALL?
WW Inc. on the GBA had a version of the song that you could listen to on the naming screen, which would cycle between the different versions ONE AFTER THE OTHER.
Why is this?
Ignorance?
Lack of caring?
Did they not think anyone would care enough about this?
Did they not remember that the GBA game had a full version?
They cared enough to give us both the english and japanese versions of all the other songs, they cared enough to give us HQ versions of the other GBA and DS Songs too, so why not give us this too?
Why go through the trouble of going back into the old files, just to make a slightly different Medley?
WHAT WERE THEY THINKING!?!?!? D8<
:STTnTT:

All the other records sound great, SO THEY WERE SO CLOSE TO PERFECTION!
I HATE IT WHEN THEY GET SO CLOSE AND THEN JUST STOP! ARGH! :SMad:

I completely agree, why couldn't they have just released a high quality version of the full song from the GBA game? It's one of my favorite WarioWare songs too...

There are a few design decisions that really bug me about the game, which could easily be fixed in an update:
The command text at the beginning of each microgame is HUGE! And I feel like it stays on screen longer than usual, which sometimes makes it cover up what's going on in the microgames, which is annoying.
Not only that, but the stages with mixed control schemes also put the big control icon on there too, which is even more distracting. When the microgame pops up I wanna see what's going on!
Also, some twist microgames don't seem to register the gyro's input right away, until the text goes away. This messes with the flow and I don't like it.

Something else I noticed a minute ago is that some microgames don't have their extended songs that are supposed to play during the Wario Watch stage, where they can potentially go on for much longer than usual.
These ones, to be exact.
The game where you shave the guy for example usually goes 4 seconds, but on the Watch stage the song is 8 seconds long.
But for whatever reason in WW Gold the song just repeats after 4 seconds.
It applies to other microgames too.
This sounds TERRIBLE if you're used to the original songs, which would loop pretty smoothly.
Strangely though, some microgames DO have the long version, even though they are short outside of the Watch stage.
Why this inconsistency?

Anyway, don't think that these negatives outweigh all of the positives. I've still had a ton of fun with the game so far and I might even wanna get 100% on it.
There's a ton about this game that really made me smile.
It's great to see some microgames looking, sounding, and playing really faithfully to their originals. It's so nostalgic.
It's not perfect but it's still really great.

I'm sure I'll think of more to criticize or praise later.

Edit: Here's one:
They removed the funny animations from the Ocarina of Time microgame where Link turns adult on level 1, into an old man on level 2 and into a cuccoo on level 3.
Instead the camera just pans up on every level. The results are what made it memorable in the first place. :SAnnoyed:

Looking back at some of these old posts is interesting. Some things I totally called... :sgrin: ...other things were sadly not the case. :S<:[:

One "special rules" stage that I always really liked, and that I wonder why they never used again, was the Wario Watch.

I mean it's a simple change but very fun! :sgrin:
You play on a constant timer, the microgames don't end until you beat them, but you gain back some time after beating one. So the faster you are, the better.
And when you lose, you just don't gain any time back.
Of course, this means that only a specific type of microgame can work (ones that can potentially go on forever) but I bet there are a ton of microgames that could've worked in this mode, that they could use in WW Gold.
(If only the Boss of the stage wasn't so easy...)

I wish there were more "special rules" stages in general.
I totally called this. :sgrin:
And I'm so happy this is back. And they actually expanded it. You can play with Mash, Twist, Touch, and all 4 playstyles. That's great.

Oh and I'm really happy we didn't just get two, but THREE nintendo stages.
You know what I'd love for this game?

9-Volt and 18-Volt each having their own stage, so we can have twice the number nintendo-themed games.

Also...

I really hope this microgame returns

If it does, then I hope the water still makes that over the top electric guitar sound when it runs down. :STongue:

Sadly, they replaced the sounds with much more realistic, boring sounds. :S<:[: Realism isn't always better. The original sound was really memorable, because it was so abstract.

You know what I want this game to have? FRIGGIN SAVE FILES!
It's frustrating that the only WarioWare game with save files is Smooth Moves.
WW inc. needed it, Twisted needed it, Touched needed it, even DIY could've used it.

It's so dumb that you have to delete everything if you just wanna play the game again like it was your first time.
Especially if you have unlockables based on getting records on EVERY SINGLE MICROGAME!

And then we really did get save files! :SHappy:

Is there even a gaming franchise from Nintendo where characters age? It is very rare I think.
There's a few Fire Emblem games. From what I can remember at the top of my head there's the 1st and 2nd GBA games (the former takes place 20 years after the latter), Path of Radiance/Radiant Dawn (one of the characters gets super offended over his friend growing much taller and looking older while he's still short and looks like a child in the latter), and Echoes.

In Mother 3 the characters age within the game, if that's what you mean. There's a 3 year time skip and afterwards the younger characters have slightly bigger sprites.

Hey guys, I don't know if this is the place to ask, but does anyone know who voices who in WarioWare Gold? Also, just wanted to say I LOVE the voice acting in that game.

I'm disappointed that the Frantic Fronk Microgames no longer change the microgame incoming jingle when they pop up. The little squiggly sound is still there, and I love how it sounds, but the music used to bleed over into the jingle and would get you pumped up to test your reflexes before you even knew which microgame it would be.
Without it they feel much slower and less exciting. :/
This jingle in particular is always what I think of when I think frantic Fronk. It's a shame it's not even in the game. S:(

I guess my two biggest gripes with the game are: 1. Why does the character's voice play at the end of each microgame, rather than right and you win or lose like in the previous games? I noticed that ever since I saw the demo, and while it is very small, it kind of bothers me. 2. Why are there only 5 microphone games? I know that you don't want an oversaturation of these types of games, because of how there's only so many things you can do with the microphone, but still, I was expecting more considering it's a whole other play style...
