  • You know what I never understood about the Gameboy Color? Why didn't it have any backlighting? I mean, the colour thing is fine and all, but what does that matter when there isn't enough light to make these colours shine like they ought to do? By the way, which developing team was even responsible for the development of the GBC?

I don't think the technology was truly around and flexible as what we have today. Maybe it was expensive too. Backlight only came to nintendo handhelds late GBA SP.
Have you had a listen to that song you requested? The one from MvDK2?

Also, your profile picture is animated? Whoa, I haven't clicked on anyone's profile for a long time, I realise.

Is it strange that I like the products of certain companies, but not the company itself? Because I sometimes have this feeling about Nintendo.

I feel you man! I know what you mean and I don't like microsoft, but I prefer windows over mac. It's just certain things we've grown to love we can't let go. There's also the opposite, for instance, I like Sony, but I find more first party game of theirs boring.

How very true. Some companies treat their customers like shit.

So... how about the Emoji Movie? Is it really as terrible as people say? Or is it at least decent enough to be worth the money for a cinema ticket?

I haven't seen it, but I'd estimate that it won't even be worth the energy to see it in a cinema.

In my opinion i saw it being heinously anus from the start, and its still worse than i thought. It had one funny joke but other than that its just a rip off of The Lego Movie and Wreck It Ralph but with zero substance. Don't even watch it ironically like i thought to do. Just avoid it its not worth the time.

What was the funny joke? :p
I recently picked up Super Mario Bros: The Lost Levels on my 3DS again and I was instantly reminded of how hard this game is. I can barely make it to world 2 without getting a game over. I can understand why Nintendo decided to release SMB2 outside Japan as the official sequel. Appearently the American and European gamers are not as hardcore as the Japanese.

Wait until you play, Mario Advance 4 with the e-reader levels.

That whole assumption about Japanese gamers being more "hardcore" is baloney. There are too many instances when games have been modified to be easier for the Japanese market, and I've read on more than one occasion from Japan that they're put off by overly hard games.

Yeah, but after a game over, you can actually continue in the same world.
That's why Super Mario Bros. 2 Japan is my favourite 2D Mario, it features game overs that actually have a substantial impact, but they don't send you back to the very start. :)
Has anyone ever noticed that video game characters look much different from behind? I found this out myself when I was looking trough some pictures of Mario. It has likely something to do with the fact that we don't see them often from that direction, especially not in artwork.

Um. Something like 80% of Mario 64, Mario Sunshine, Mario Galaxy, etc. has you facing away from the camera. You look at Mario from behind for so much of the game.

Yeah that's true, but I was mostly referring to non-3D platformers, like Wario Land.

Oh, well, yes, in that case, I agree, now that I have context.
¨What do they feed you Mario brothers anyway? Gullible soup?¨ -King Boo, Luigi's Mansion (2001). These lines are one of the reasons why I like the N64/GameCube era so much. Nowadays the Mario games do not have that much clever dialogue, except for the RPG's .
I have written only one fanfiction so far and I'm already suffering from writer's block. Maybe playing some games will help.
I have been playing Donkey Kong Country Returns, and I was amazed by its outstanding graphics and level design. A callback to the original three DKC games but also completely modernised. Too bad that King K. Rool didn't return. Now I really want to buy the sequel Tropical Freeze too.
Does anyone know what sound system the Virtual Boy used?
We finally broke the 50,000 message barrier! For the numer fetishists among us: It took us 3.18 years, or 1,163 days to do so. That's an average of 43 messages/day. Nice.
