  • Hmm, if emails aren't being sent out properly, that'd explain why there may be less activity recently. Looking into that.

Wait do people look at the emails? I never bothered personally

I meant things like the sign up confirmation one. We generally don't send emails to people who've already registered and been using the site.
Am I the only one who's kinda curious how many game devs (especially Nintendo ones) take part on forums, subreddits, Discord etc without anyone knowing?

You better watch out what you say about Nintendo. They are watching us... :wurgh:

Yeah, me too. Also I used to hang out on animation forums, and on the commentary of one of them I heard one of the writers talk about the forum. Spooked me out.
On another note, gonna try and find a way to make this forum a bit more active soon enough. There has to be some way to keep interest going between games.

To keep interest going we need a Wario galge so we can romance Wario. Everyone in the world will buy it along with the 18+ version on Steam
So apparently someone hacked Etika's Twitter account and used it to advertise their Discord server. Yeah, that's a pretty good to make the internet rightfully hate you near immediately.
So apparently they announced a new Cooking Mama game, and the press release is all about how it uses the 'blockchain'. What even is this ridiculousness?
Always found it amusing how ready meal and frozen food packaging pretends it's for 2-4 people when it comes to serving sizes. Oh give it a rest. We all know that in most cases, that pizza's probably gonna be eaten by one person in front of their TV/computer screen that night.
Good grief the comments here are kinda strange. Ah well, it's fitting isn't it? A forum for a wacky series has an equally wacky userbase.
Jeez internet, can you stop being so weird? It's making it really hard to tell whether I'm dreaming or not now, especially with stuff like the Ashley and Banjo-Kazooie versions of the Wind Waker.
So, does the Super Mario World intro always suck this badly? Feels like it takes forever...

You mean the "oh wow Bowz has kidnapped the princess?????" screen? Doesn't feel like it tbh

Well, guess constantly having to reset the game for Super Mario World ROM hacking purposes makes it feel longer then.

The GBA version with Luigi running in a circle around Mario is better.
On another note, I have to say, Luigi's Mansion 3 is the game I'm most excited for in 2019. Mario Maker 2 seems neat, the Link's Awakening remake is neat too... but Luigi's Mansion 3 just seems a bit more interesting overall.

I am also looking forward to Luigi's Mansion 3. I'm glad to see Gooigi and the Polterpups return.
Am I the only one who always answers questions send to them in emails, DMs, PMs, YouTube comments, etc? Feels like way too many site/YouTube creators are too closed off nowadays, and treat things too seriously.

Well, e-mails, DMs, and especially PMs, those are obviously going undisclosed, so it's harder to say.
As for YouTube comments, usually it's because either A) the channel is big enough to where the person doesn't notifications for individual comments anymore (by algorithm or design) or B) they don't give a shit, which of course is very much possible. Sometimes it depends on how the question is worded as to whether they'll get a response, I think.
Anyone else not buy Mario Maker 2 yet? Part of me wants to buy it, but something about me just doesn't seem that interested in the game overall.

Maybe it's because I still can't morally support the Switch Online service. Or because after playing with so many fan made level editors, find it hard to find Mario Maker that exciting.
What the hell just happened to Gamnesia? Used to be an alright gaming site, now seems to be... something that barely resembles a news site.
Anyone else remember when emotes were called smilies or emoticons?

I still call them smilies at times.

I never had a specific name for them. To me, emojis are specifically the ones used for texting.

I always knew them as emoticons from my time as a cringey (well, cringier) 11-yr-old on deviantArt.
Sounded like Decepticon, so of course I'm going to remember it, also how dare Google Chrome not recognize Decepticon as a word I'm fixing that shit

Oh my, I hope you feel better soon. Take the rest you need, and don't be afraid to refrain from using the WF's for a time if you feel you need to.
Hmm, Nintendo World Report posted some of the new songs from Mario Maker 2:

However, as weird as it may sound, I prefer the ice remix from the SMW Central Vanilla Level Design Contest to the official Nintendo one.

Probaly just me, but TBH I can barely recognise the original theme in the remix.
But then again, it has been quite a while since I've played the game. Should pick it up again soon. Super Mario World is still one of my most beloved games.

Some of the liberties they took with the remixes bother me. Like, I deadass heard the Rainbow Bowser church organ playing towards the end of the Mario World ice stage, and I feel like having a straight-up high definition music box recording play over the Super Mario Bros. 1 graphics and sfx is committing some kind of cardinal sin. You can even recreate a music box sound using 8-bit! I've done it before!
The music itself is pretty good, but straight-up ignoring the limitations presented by the original game's hardware feels... bad.
Like, that ice remix features SO many instruments not heard anywhere in SMW and it seriously bothers me, especially because a lot of them don't even "feel" like they'd belong. Their vibes are just too different from the regular instruments. We got shit like that in-engine remix of Battle Buoy Galaxy and that shit was fucking gorgeous. You can't tell me that this is the best they could do, because that's just straight-up false.

That being said, that forest (water?) remix of the SMW theme I can give a little leeway, because at the very least the out-of-place instrument doesn't sound that out-of-place. Oh, and I fucking adore that SMB3 ice remix which goes so far as to sample a jingle bell using that same shitty technology that gave us the Airship Timpani
Quick rant here: Dear games journalists, if you're reporting on Luigi's Mansion 3 and talking about character/portrait ghosts, remember that more have been shown in the concept art and trailer.
    CM30
    CM30
It's super minor I know, but... I just saw a Kotaku article talking about how they've seen two bosses so far, while neglecting to mention the fact King Boo, a security guard/police officer ghost, a bellhop ghost and a vampire like woman ghost are all shown in the trailer and E3 press pack.

    Basic research is not difficult.
